Default What was your best new health practice of 2011?

What was your best new health practice of 2011? and how do you know?

For me I would say it was focusing on eating mostly whole/real/(and some organic) foods. I know because I found food I never knew about that taste good and are good for me. Also I've lost a lot of weight doing so. However I now fall into the underweight category (lowest 2 percent for my age/gender & height) so I'm not sure if that is so good.

I think for me in 2011, it was joining a gym for the first time. Although I have no strict schedule there, I think my overall strength, fitness and health has improved. My main source of enjoyment is still walking in the outdoors in natural surroundings. In the past year I've also been using supplements like Chlorella on a daily basis, which I feel is cleansing to my system.

There have been so many good things but to have to pick one it would be doing liver cleanses. I feel more energetic and am sleeping better. I've been doing the Hulga Clark protocol. https://www.drclark.net/en/cleanses_c...r_cleanses.php

I just recently started my own homemade version of protandim,, which consists of powerful herbs that they say will stimulate your own antioxidant pathways to work better, boosting gluathione and others.. I can see that my husband has increased energy in the evening. He's managing to watch a movie every night without falling asleep since we started which is like a freakin miracle!

Best health practice? Restoring my daily intake of multiminerals!

I met with a problem this year....
Fruit smoothies. 100% fruit, 'healthy', no added sugar, tastes delicious and a half price offer at the supermarket. What more did I want? I was tanking the stuff by the gallon.
And then...tooth decay. Just crept up on me, guess I wasn't paying close enough attention.
Anyway, off to the dentist? No. The years of natural health research came in mighty handy! Two multimineral tablets (amino-acid chelate) backed up with 2,000 i.u. vitamin D (yes ,D2).
Seven weeks later - hadn't touched it. Then in the next 2-3 weeks, it cleared. Re-mineralized. All gone!
Hurrah for the (seaweed based) multiminerals!

Be careful with those fruit smoothies! Very high fruit sugar.

Yup, just had to say my hubby developed two new cavities within 6 months of getting a vita mix blender. I was feeding him frozen banana ice cream and other frozen fruits. Live and learn, huh?

Indeed! Fruit as Nature intended - one on one, eat till you're full - great! But in a super concentrated mix...The old adage 'too much of a good thing' springs to mind.

Thumbs up

I began a multimineral complex too in 2011 and stopped worrying about my weight. Low & behold, when
I went to my Dr in early December, I had lost 20 lbs. in 6 months without even knowing it.

Default 2011

I upped my supplements, stopped drinking anything sweet, drink raw milk, farm eggs, alkaline spring water and drink 1 Tsp apple cider vinegar a day.

Lost 3 dress sizes, my feet cleared for the first time in 25 years and the rest of the molds went away. Guess the next is exercise and developing the recipes.
