Depending on the manufacturing technique it appears that there is a chance that trace amounts of a cancer producing compound might be produced. Thus causing it to be added to the near endless list of products and chemicals �which are known to the Sate of California to cause cancer and reproductive harm�.

Given America's battle with levels of obesity, dental caries and diabetes, that frankly are at epidemic proportions, the cans & bottles ought to carry health warnings anyway!
Many of the ingredients used in the production of soft drinks are labeled during transport with stickers that warn, "corrosive", "flammable", etc. Not something I'd like to ingest knowingly for sure.

They are conditioned from babies by their parents. I see mother's leaving the stores with cases of colas, and some give it to their toddlers, even babies in bottles. I was lucky, way back when I was a child, my mother didn't buy us sodas to drink. The only soda in our refrigerator was ginger ale, club soda, and occasionally Sarsaparilla for my father.
Best change I ever made to my life is cutting out soda. I used to use the excuse that I'm tired and need the caffeine, so I would drink one can of soda a day. Now I only drink water and if I feel I'm exhausted I get tea instead and only wished I made this change years ago.

Even those that have a desire for the bubbly, carbonated drinks can use plain seltzer and add a splash of an unsweetened cherry, pomegranate, cranberry juice, etc. Just as satisfying, and much healthier than regular or diet sodas.
