Default Fukushima Radiation Disaster Continues

Oregon Senator goes to Japan to look the situation over and he says its not done yet. Oregon has received more than its fair share of radioactive particles, but all states in the US have had contamination

https://enenews.com/breaking-us-senat...rnational-help

Iodine, cesium, strontium, plutonium, uranium, and a host of other fission products have been coming directly from Japan to the west coast for thirteen months.

Maybe you have heard about sick seals, polar bears, tainted fish, mutations in dandelions and fruits and vegetables, possibly even animals already, and seaweed.

In fact the kelp from Corona del Mar contained 40,000,000 bcq/kg of radioactive iodine, as reported in Scientific American several weeks ago.

If you dont know your becquerels, its a lot. Thats what your pacific fish feed on. And that was only ONE isotope reported. There were up to 1600 different isotopes that have been floating around in our air, pouring out of the reactors, and steaming out of the ground, every second of every day, for 13 months.

And there has been silence from our mainstream media, for which the depths of depravity are so severe I will devote an entire article just to the why at a future time.

But back to the research: reports in the past week indicate the pollen in southern California is radioactive now too, and it is flying around, and if you live there and go outside, you are breathing it in. And so are your children.

Along with fission products blowing over from Japan. And radiation in your drinking water. And in your rain. And in the fish you are eating. And your vegetables. And the milk supply. And its happening every second, of every day. For 13 months. Are you starting to see a problem here?

Problem is, thats not even the biggest problem. The biggest problem is what Senator Wyden is all bent out of shape about, even though independent researchers and nuke experts have been warning about this for a year.

Thanks Arrowwind09, as you know I live in Southern CA. It's a 15 min. drive to the Pacific ocean and 25 minute drive to Corona Del Mar that shows a disgustingly high radioactive levels in seaweed. Friends of mine who aren't taking this seriously are now having their young children vomit up the milk. Milk levels are getting higher in Cesium levels.

I will say this.... one of the largest nuclear contracts to enter America in the last 20 years has been cancelled. Areva, a French nuclear waste processing company, who was to open production in Idaho with construction to start this spring, as a multi billion project and huge economy booster, has been shelved.

What is wrong with this picture? We are forcing our old coal power plants to shut down, we do not allow new cleaner burn coal plants to be built, we cancel building a nuclear waste processing company, and I seem to recall we decided not to use Yuca mountain as a waste storage area, but we will allow new nuclear plants to be built and store the used material on site just like Japan did.

But the thing is MS, is that Areva was cancelled because its intent was to service a whole new round of nuclear plants that were being planned. My understanding is that no new plants are being built at this time as fukashima put a halt on everything...

Look to Germany at this time. Their goal is to eliminate all nuc plants by 2020, to be replaced by renewable and other non nuclear energy sources

Obama has been pushing for change but the bad econonmy, and obviously some less than scrupulous solar companies have done him in. Solar is getting less expensive though so that is pushing things forward a little.

I understand that. However we told the lights will go out if we dont build more nuclear plants. But Japan after the accident shut down all its plants, I think one might still be running, and yet their lights havent gone out! The people living around these plants do not want them restarted yet the government is pushing to have them restarted. Apparently some big money is being lost by run have these plants running. Oh that is so sad.

To me these government funded solar projects looked like they were designed to fail right from the beginning so as to tarnish solars reputation and thus make nuclear look more acceptable. Most people are not aware that after receiving government money to start a new business the person in charge is not required to produce results. They could in fact immediately declare bankruptcy and simply just take the money and run.

Solar panels are getting better and their price is coming down but still the best ones today only convert 15 20% of the light into electricity. Yet it is rumored that the government is holding patents for panels that are many times more efficient. But they are not allowed into the public because theyre considered a military asset.
Im not so sure about the value of keeping them a military asset but it sure is an asset for those who want to build nuclear plants.

There are over 1100 spent fuel rods in the disaster zone, so this isn't over by any means.

In fact, it will never be over.

No it will never be over. The big concern is that another tusanmi or quake will make it all much much worse.

Another quake or tusanami would only speed up the inevitable.

One single spent fuel rod could kill over two billion people, so it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what 1000 rods or more could do.

Another way to look at this is one spent rod can contaminate 100 square miles, give or take, so 1000 spent rods can provide enough contamination (6% plutonium per rod) to cover to world, even without wind or currents.

There is more than just debris coming our way..

The people in Japan may as well be living on the sun.

yes, but given enough time they will find a way to contain it. give no further natural disasters occur in the region

No. While the heat produced there can be quite hot the quantity of it is not sufficient to effect the atmosphere.
Think of a candle. If you put your hand in the flame you will get burnt. But that candle in the middle of a room and it will not produce enough heat to heat the room.

The only thing that can produce enough energy to effect the entire planet is that shining object in the sky we call the sun. It and other energies from space can produce cyclical effects on our weather.

Radiation Network is a reliable source for radiation info in real time. Any time a station triggers over 100cpm, it will trigger an alert and get noted in the messages section. There have been a few in Seattle and Hawaii.
