Default Nutrition Makes Anti-Aging Possible: Secrets of Your Telomeres

https://www.wellnessresources.com/hea...our_telomeres/

Quote:
A telomere is a repeating sequence of DNA at the end of a chromosome. Each time a cell replicates and divides the telomere loses some of its length. Eventually the telomere runs out and the cell can no longer divide and rejuvenate, triggering a poor state of cell health that contributes to disease risk and eventual cell death.

In 1962 Leonard Hayflick revolutionized cell biology as he developed a theory relating to telomeres known as the Hayflick Limit, which places the maximum potential lifespan of humans at 120, the time at which too many cells can no longer replicate and divide to keep things going. Fifty years later new gene science is opening the door to maximize your genetic potential.

Carnosine is a supplement that protects the ends of the telomeres, thus it prevents aging.

This article is really worth reading... it supports everything we talk about here regarding supplements. Below is just a portion,,, they go on to discuss magnesium and vitamin d and others.

The healthy function of your telomeres requires adequate methylation in order to work properly, turning genes on and off to regulate appropriate telomereA telomere is a repeating sequence of DNA at the end of a chromosome. Each time a cell replicates and divides the telomere loses some of its length. Eventually the telomere runs out and the cell can no longer divide and rejuvenate, triggering a poor state of cell health that contributes to disease risk and eventual cell death. function. Methylation is a chemistry process of donating a methyl group (one carbon atom bonded to three hydrogen atoms —CH3) to the genetic material of the telomereA telomere is a repeating sequence of DNA at the end of a chromosome. Each time a cell replicates and divides the telomere loses some of its length. Eventually the telomere runs out and the cell can no longer divide and rejuvenate, triggering a poor state of cell health that contributes to disease risk and eventual cell death., which epigenetically marks the telomeres so they can behave properly.

The important point to understand is that you need an adequate supply of methyl donors in order for your telomeres to work properly, just like your car needs gasoline. The primary methyl donor for this purpose is called SAMe, which uses nutrients like methionine An essential amino acid which serves as a methyl donor and is involved with the biosynthesis of other nutrients. Improper conversion is associated with production of homocysteine and atherosclerosis., MSM sulfur, choline, and trimethylglycine as building blocks. Forming SAMe from these building blocks requires vitamin B12, folic acid, and vitamin B6. Folic acid and B12 actually play multiple roles in supporting telomereA telomere is a repeating sequence of DNA at the end of a chromosome. Each time a cell replicates and divides the telomere loses some of its length. Eventually the telomere runs out and the cell can no longer divide and rejuvenate, triggering a poor state of cell health that contributes to disease risk and eventual cell death. genomic stability.

The most important basic supplement to help your telomeres is a good quality multiple vitamin along with adequate dietary protein, especially proteins that contain sulfur. Examples include whey protein, eggs, cottage cheese, dairy, red meat, chicken, legumes, duck, nuts, and seeds. Eggs contain the highest source of choline in the diet, with others such as red meat, chicken, dairy, nuts, and seeds containing moderate amounts.

For a good mood, your brain also has a high need for methyl donors. If you are stressed-out or depressed you are typically lacking methyl donors, which means your telomeres are also running low of nourishment and prone to accelerated aging. This is a major reason why stress ages a person.

This simple fact can help you determine your personal “minimum daily requirement” for methyl donors. You may want to increase your B vitamin intake. Either take more of your multi vitamin or take an extra B-complex, along with adequate protein and possible other cofactors such as MSM sulfur, choline, and trimethylglycine, to the point that you can definitely tell your energy and your mood are better. You can assume that if you have enough methyl donors to help your brain function then you most likely have enough to help your telomeres with basic nourishment.

Sounds INTERESTING. And very doable. I just worry about over-supplementing. How do you really know? Which? How much? With what? When?

I feel my diet is good: LOADS OF GREENS fresh from the organic raised beds in my backyard. I eat eggs - I lurve them. Grass fed bison/beef/chicken. A variety of veggies, fruits. Occasional NON GLUTEN breads/muffins/pizza. An organic sulphite free red wine maybe here or there. Raw dairy in my fair trade shade grown organic coffee in am. Lots of filtered water.

So how much and do I get those expensive bloods every three months to see?

I supp with iodine due to small goiter. Selenium from raw organic brazil nuts. Magnesium oil. Looking into sulphur, now. VitB complex tho, confuzzles me. I am in the sun alot, lately but also take D3 drops w/kefir. UG.

Total magnesium intake should be between 400 mg – 800 mg per day, higher levels if you are under higher stress.
No high stress - but I do 4 sprays of the Magnesium oil - I hope that's good?

How do I know what and when?
**Just took a packet of Lypo-spheric AGE Blocker along with the Lypo Spheric GSH AND a standard process folic acid b12. Can this be done every day or every other day?

The minimal amount of zinc you want is15 mg per day, ranging up to 50 mg for women or 75 mg for men. A novel antioxidant that contains zinc is carnosine, which has been shown to slow the rate of telomere depletion in human fibroblast cells, while extending their longevity. Carnosine is also a major brain antioxidant, making it a great stress management nutrient.
Zinc. This one gets me. The only one we have in the cabinet has Copper. Do I need copper? I have read that if you have copper water pipes - you do NOT need addl copper. Ok. We have BRAND NEW HUGE copper piping done last year. I use the water to drink after triple filtering. I did NOT check for copper levels. But is this the same type of copper? Does a body even absorb this type from the pipes?

For inflammation, I do a variety of dha/epa. Fish oils. Coconut oils.

Nutrients such as quercetin, green tea catechins, grape seed extract, curcumin, and resveratrol all show specific ability to help preserve telomeres, with grape seed extract and curcumin showing the ability to generate longer telomeres
Maybe I am just overdoing it. And THEN, theres:
All you have to do is hold your forearm next to the forearm of a child and closely look at the differences in skin (don’t do this for too long or you will start feeling really old).
