Local guy around 60. If he is at the gym he moves very very very slowly; when you see him other places, very slow walk, slightly hunched over, weight gain. Any ideas
Men are notorious for being reluctant to seek help for problems 'south of the border'.
Could it be a hernia - or prostate, he is the 'right' age for it.

Stress. Sleep deprivation. Probably can't retire until several more years. Probably his company has laid off so many workers that he has had to take on more than just his job. Or maybe had lost his job and has to take two low paying jobs. Or can't find one due to his age. House mortgage under water, and needs to move to find other work. Marriage failing. Stress. Stress. Stress.

Weight gain, muscle problems and lack of energy at 60 could point to Andropause. It comes to a lot of men at that age and some think that going to the gym will cure it, but while it may help a little, its usually mostly lowered testosterone levels with aging thats the problem. Being a smoker or ex-smoker can also slow you down due to mitochondria throughout the body being damaged by the the heavy metal cadmium.
