I take resveratrol too. I'm going to be immortal with all the stuff I take.
My interest in resveratrol began years ago when studies showed that the French people had a better cholesterol level and better heart health than the USA; even with a diet that should not necessarily benefit them. Unlike the benefits of the Mediterranean Diet.
I discovered that the French don't drink red wine the same as is normally done in the USA. I mean they don't necessarily drink it socially as we do. They will typically have a glass during a meal. Also they will dilute one with water for the children. Now, this was a few years ago; and studies can be updated. But my mind hasn't been updated; so I'm not completely convinced of this.
I now understand that it would take a whole lot of red wine to equal the quantity of resveratrol in a supplement. So my liver would die first.
I think there is more to the red wine story than is seen on the surface. Maybe the tannins and the alcohol have some benefit.
