With the "deposition for divorce" date looming quite close - while living with the soon to be ex that is currently laid off - dd *daughter and I are experiencing an increased amount of tension/stress.
We have begun to drink a bit more wine than we used to - before tension/stress. I admit I don't like to "point the finger" at one cause, but it is truly difficult living under the roof with someone that you can't wait to get away from. PTSD just might be a reality for me.
Worries about income, medical coverage, etc., the house *will it sell? Are all coming at us.
I just took my bp and was once bragging about the 124/71 readings that were the norm for me.
Now? 141/86. Hers has been this high as well lately.
Could it be the stress plus wine? This is the only one thing I can say that has changed in my mostly fresh veggie/fruit diet! No additional caffeine. NO increase in Celtic Salt. ??
I would not consider 141/86 to be high blood pressure.
86 is the pressure while the heart is at rest (between beats) and is normal considering the stress you are under.
I would suggest two things, drinking tea throughout the day, (contains thiamine which is a natural relaxer) and avoiding your soon to be ex as much as possible.
Stress eats away at your body reserves of vitamins and minerals at least ten times faster than normal, so make sure you are getting all your nutrients in optimal amounts.

My daughter is still quite young - 27 - and the one time her bp was high was when she was scheduled for wisdom teeth removal, was very overweight, going thru separation, in the process of moving out of her home and on her own, living far away from her parents/friends, hashimoto's, school classes, etc.
I know it's "him." But he is laid off and every time I try to get away, he's there. We had a yelling match last night about this very thing. I go upstairs, he's behind me. I go back downstairs - yep he's there. If you think he's quiet and you sneak into the kitchen to finish cleaning, get a snack, take a supplement - BOOM, he's right behind you.
Even in the early am, trying to get dd out the door to work - I must make coffee first (perculator takes longer), and begin 3 dogs breakfast. Guess who is standing behind me in this little corner by the sink, making "hellooo?I am here. I Need to get to the cabinet you're blocking" groaning noises!! I move to the right- BAM, right into him. I have three dogs whining like monsters to get to their breakfast and a very nervous TYPE A daughter (soon to be on her hour ride to chicago) just trying to get out the door.
The minute I go down to the family room to watch tv *usually at 8pm - guess who has to go into his "workroom" and make a TON of noise? Or, begin LAUNDRY which is down there, too. (sheesh - I had to let that out, huh?) Guess we found the problem, right?

I'm not a doctor, but from your post it is clear that there is alot of friction between you and your "still" husband, and thus alot of stress.
I would assume the bathroom door has a lock on it, and is probably the only private room(s) in the house. I don't know anything about your husband, however I do know that life is stressful, especially getting laid off from your job, and having to deal with a failing marriage, kids, bills, etc..
I don't suppose there is any chance of trying to save the marriage, and although I do not believe in divorce, there are just some people who are better off apart.
It is much easier to walk away then to work things out, and although it takes two people to get married, it only takes one to divorce...and its just too easy to get a divorce. Its too easy, its too hard on the kids, and it just plain sucks.
Anyway, you can mix green tea with hibiscus, I do it all the time. Sometimes I'll make a pot of red tea ( rooibos) with green or white tea, and add some dry hibiscus flowers for extra flavor. When it comes to making a good pot of tea, the key is to use pure water.

He being laid off is nothing new. He is a STAUNCH supporter of his "local" that is slowly bleeding the retirements dry. He had a great opp to be the boiler/heater/venting man at a local hospital. He turned it down. It would have meant a bit lower paycheck - yes, but he is always laid off during winter months. He would even had regular vacation and sick days off. He does not at present *they just lay off the entire local. No vacations - ever.
I have tried everything in the books to save this failed relationship since 2005. He has no problem. It is all me. 29 years in April (1984) *bout the time to get the papers? is long enough hell for me.
The kicker? Claiming our daughter has no REAL sensitivity to gluten -- He's gotta eat, right? So on with the wheat breads--cereals--etc. The clean up of his mess is unreal. (After I asked him to please not stand behind me or make me move until the dogs are fed. His reply? "You are not supposed to bother me in any way." I wanted to reply to him that he is supposed to be out of the house by 8am - 8pm. But I bit my tongue...again. He will just rage at me and I am NOT going to bait him.
(He: "organic food is a joke. Why do you buy all those vitamins?" He is the one on statins, bp lowers, blood thinners. Follows the SAD to the extreme! Believes Big Pharma and his doc is keeping him alive with pills. I once foolishly believed that if we walked together after he came home from work - was fed/showered all that good stuff, it would give us a chance to connect in a small way. There were many couples walking in our neighborhood. I alone. His reply was that he got enough exercise going up and down a ladder all day with a 50 pound tool belt carrying his tool box. Ok. Nuff said)
I am tired of sharing wasted empathy - or even trying to reach him anymore. I never do enough, according to him. It goes back years. I am here only to serve HIM. HIS needs. HIS wants. Etc. Until death do us part. I must remind him OUR VOWS were - so long as you both shall live. ugh. DONE
Gotta go get that tea.

ETA: No more wine for us. Even organic. Was quickly becoming a crutch. Tea is better -- always with pure water!

The time will come when you will be free to enjoy and savor your organic goodness and relish in your vitamins as they nourish you in ways food can't today. You'll be free to be at ease in your own space again. A really good work is done by Eckhart Tolle called, "The Power of Now." You can listen to it on CD or read it It may offer you a refreshing perspective to get through this time of transition.

Stress destroys your health faster then just about anything else. Don't worry about the blood pressure either; it's not that high, it will go away once you're under less stress, and in the entire history of the world worrying about something has not once ever helped the matter. Just made it worse.
Go for relaxing walks. Meditate. Do something to calm yourself down.
Stay positive. A better future is on the way.

I just picked up yogi (Green Tea Super Antioxidant). Since I don't have fluoride in anything else that I use, I thought I could chance it. ?? How does one know how much is in which one? According to this:

The weather should be clearing somewhat - warmer temps. Maybe some sunshine here and there - which will help. I find myself excited about the future and apprehensive a bit, too.
The wine is off the list. I will work on growing those darn sprouts again...and drink tea instead of the coffee. Time to take some more baby steps.
The fluoride in tea is natural fluoride that is found in nature and is an essential nutrient, not the poison that is scraped out of furnace stacks and added to drinking water to prevent cavities.
(Adding fluoride to drinking water to prevent cavities would be like drinking shampoo to wash your hair).
The fluoride in tea is from nature, not something that is added, and is found in processed teas. All tea comes from the same bush, however it is how it is processed that determines weather it is black (the most processed tea) green (less processed with little to no caffeine) white (no caffeine) or red tea, which is sometimes called rooibos, and is one of my personal favorites.
Natural fluoride is one of the 60+ essential minerals.
Put fluoride in the mercury, arsenic, lead etc. category. It is a poison. Anything that displaces iodine is a poison, period.
That said, I do drink tea, so I do get that exposure, however, I also supplement my iodine.
I don't know much about fluoride, but I can tell you my 6 month old it's one of the only supplements they recommend. Vitamin D and fluoride. American Academy of Pediatrics and Dr. Sears recommends it.
I read your posts and I drink rooibos tea very often. I have at least a few cups a day and most rooibos comes from South Africa, which seems like you are concern about chinese teas. Rooibos teas are becoming popular, so india is slowly producing rooibos teas as well, but it is not popular in china right now and india just started producing these teas.
You mentioned green and oolong, which I drink both very often, but if it's stress I wouldn't drink oolong and I would stick to green tea. A lot of oolong comes from china, but good quality green teas do come from Japan.
I think the earlier post about mixing hibiscus tea with rooibos is a good idea. The hibiscus will help with blood pressure and rooibos without a doubt relaxes me.
Consider taking some things like passion flower and St. John's wart as well, which will help with stress and anxiety.

No wine, tho! Lots of tea. Even went cold turkey on the caffeinated coffee for a bit and it helped immensely. Now I do a half decaf/half caffeinated mix.
I drink the green early in the day and save my calming teas for evening along with herbal tinctures to add. Works great!
