Default lung cancer

Good morning,
kindly I would like to know some opinions from you.

I'm Italian, my mother is 54 and has gone to hospital for increased liver and widespread pain (diaphragm, liver, flank); after the liver echography and CT, it's discovered that the liver has widespread metastasis and the right lung has a dark spot.

Obviously medics have made the bronchoscopy, taken a piece of the "spot" and are analyzing it. A possibile assumption is that it could be a lung cancer, or maybe (we hope) pleurisy or something similar.

But there are lots of strange things (for not a medic like me)

1) she doesn't smoke, she smoked very little when was young (I know, it isn't sufficient to delete the worse)
2) blood exams are perfect, only transaminase and GGT are high for the increased liver
3) no temperature
4) apparently good health, except for pains How can cancer and metastasis be if blood is "clean"? Shouldn't cancer with blood without tumoral makers indicate that it's at a start point ? But aren't metastasis typical of an advanced level?

Could a tubercolosis (treated perfectly when she was a few months baby) be linked to the cancer's reasons (weaker lung) ?

In the case of cancer lung, which could be the treatment ? Chemotherapy ?

Thank you very much for each help/opinion

Alessandro

Unfortunately non-smokers can get lung cancer, not often, particularly women.

Doesnt matter. Tumor marker results? CEA, CA19.9, NSE, SCC.

Not unusual, and its probably not pleurisy.

It often causes anemia, with low hemoglobin levels. This leads to chronic tiredness.

Not always. Some cancer causes no tumor marker changes.

Yes

Only indirectly, as cancer growing from a scar in the lung.

For early stages it depends on the histology, with widespread metastasespalliative chemo is often done. Should she get painful bone mets radiation is a quick remedy.

Default Hi

Lung cancer is a malignancy of the lung. It is characterized by unregulated replication of cells creating tumors, with the possibility of some of the cells spreading to other sites (metastasis).

Selenium is an essential mineral which helps build antioxidant enzymes in the body. 200 mcg Selenium has been shown to lower the risks of a number of different types of cancer. Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant. Grape Seed and Green Tea contain beneficial phytonutrients that provide antioxidant support. Studies indicate that green tea consumption may lower the risk of cancer. Smoke induces Vitamin A depletion and this deficiency is linked to emphysema. Some other trace elements, such as Iron, Zinc, Vitamin C and Vitamin E were found to be deficient among smokers.

The ingredients in vitamins, herbal, and minerals contain components that have shown or are believed to have action against various carcinomas.

If you suspect you have cancer, we urge you to check with your doctor for the latest medical treatment for your individual condition.

Do not take these statements as medical advice. If you think you may be in need of treatment, please contact a healthcare professional.
