Yes, tetracycline can cure early lyme. This is proven. This is what George Bush took when he got lyme, I believe.
But antibiotics can and do sometimes push the microbe into a cyst stage. The dosage must be correct, the length of time taking the medication must be correct. If not then you are screwed. The antibioitics are not very effective after a mistreated early case and mistreatment is pretty common. Cyst stages tend to come along with long term cases of lyme also.
