And try putting that iodine on the cyst. Just slather it on. If it is lugols iodine learn how to take it orally. Don't take common drug store iodine orally. Because your iodine disappears quickly on your skin that tells us that you are quite deficient.
Lymphomyosot is a great remedy. Use it anytime there is problems with glands, lymph drainge or if you have colds or flu. I would not say that it will cure a cold or flu but it helps... it is also great for PMS breast pain.
You gotta ask, why is this cyst acting up now and not all my life. Could it be that your iodine deficiency has bottomed you out?

Hi, I have today been diagnosed as having a branchial cleft cyst.
For years I have assumed it was swollen lymph glands, and as a child, had numerous blood tests for glandular fever. All of which were negative.
I now know what the problem is, and know a few things that seem to trigger the swelling in myself, but would be interested in finding out what seems to trigger the swelling in other sufferers.
Would also be grateful for any suggestions of natural remedies to help reduce the swelling and pain.
I have found this site to be the most helpful out of all the trapesing through the internet that I have done today. I have feverfew in the cupboard and also yarrow

I did some researching (herbal sources) regarding cysts in general, fibroid cysts, etc. I realized I was missing some things in my system. I started using vitamin E will dissolve cysts (double dose of what is suggested on bottle 3x a day bought at Dollar General) Flaxseed Omega 3 (at Dollar General) I'm leary about fish oil omega 3 because of mercury in fish so that is why I chose Flaxseed. B6 (Dollar General) or the B Complex with all the B's (at Dollar General)helps process estrogen which could be over loading my body and a synthetic estrogen is used in dairy in the store, so I switched to Soy milk Vanilla flavor by Silk (grocery store) too much estrogen will cause cysts , Feverfew reduces inflamation or pain, Echinecea (Dollar General), Nettle is a mucus decongestant, Mucinex (drug decongestant at grocery store or Wegmans) Progesterone creme without wild yam in it. I also switched to pure cane sugar bought at Wegmans and a low salt as I could be allegeric to Iodine. Vanilla Yogurt as another antibiotic
Recall: Vitamin E (400 mg double dose 3x a day and then cut back. Also may come in 1000 mg dosage) dissolves cyst Tomatoes ( have vitamin E) Flax seed Omega 3 dissolves cyst (3x a day B6 to process estrogen out of body or (B complex with all Bs but most important is the B6)(3x a day) Echinecea 3 to 4 capsules each time 3x a day to fight infection Vanilla Yogurt 3 cups a day to fight infection and dissolve Nettle is a Degongestant to move fluid or mucus 3 each 3x a day Mucinex Expectorant over the counter drug to help move mucus out( hate to do it but i think it supplements until I find other herbal decongestants besides Nettle) Drink 3 to 4 bottles of water a day
Use pure cane sugar instead of white granulated in store as an anti inflamatory cut back on caffine, chocolate (caffine), pop, Coffee only in a.m.
cut back on salt
buy nothing boxed or canned. FeverFew (Wegmans) for anti inflamatory
Switched to pork or chicken verses red meat because of what they put in red meat

I have realized by doing some research, that there are other food triggers that I have been unaware of... such as bacon. Wondered why I always had a flare up when I was travelling in camper, now I know. It is probably due to the fried bacon I would eat in abundance.
I do drink quite a lot of coffee, would it be best to switch to decaffinated?

Caffeine stimulates the adrenal glands, sometimes too much. The adrenal glands regulate your allergy symptoms by producing epinephrine (adrenaline) and cortisol - among several other things. This over stimulation will weaken the adrenal glands, and your allergies will worsen.

Yes switching to everything decaf will help. Try to cut back on caffine to 90% if not altogether. It is in coffee, pops, some teas, and chocolate. The other problem with caffine is it depletes vitamins and minerals in your body that you just consumed from a healthy meal and supplements. So it's like taking 1 step forward with the healthy food, but 2 steps backwards because of the caffine depleting your system. If your drinking alot of coffee to keep energized take the B12 along with the B6 instead. B12 will give you energy. I wanted to mention that Dollar General now sells the Vitamin E in 1000 mg dosages so you don't have to double the dose the way I was with the 400 mg. You mentioned bacon is where you notice a flare up it could be from the high salt content which makes people retain fluid, and you might be allergic to the Iodine. You can switch to Raw Sea Salt,not the refined Sea Salt which you can also buy at Wegmans. I found using deli meats (low sodium ham etc.) are great for a quick lunch and great to fry up with organic eggs "ham and eggs"
I was a big salt eater and craved bacon also, but since I stopped eating bacon and cut back on salt to 90% i don't have these strange cravings anymore. I use to also crave chocolate. I think it is due to the flushing of system through the water. Now mind you, unless you buy everything in the organic section of Wegmans, or your local farm market your going to consume things you don't want to but keep water on hand. I also stress the yogurt with me because I am placing the good bacteria into my system to kill the bad bacteria. It is also important to search out the properties of foods that provide the vitamins and minerals we need and then eat on a regular basis versus just taking the supplements.

Am now drinking only decaf coffee and have ordered some suppliments. Feverfew I already had, which I have taken, and feeling a bit more comfortable now.
I will be taking alot more care over the foods I eat from now on, and keeping note of foods that irritate the swelling.

I'm taking Flaxseed oil, Marshmallow, Yarrow, Cat's Claw, Black Cohosh and feverfew if I notice it swelling. I've stopped eating bacon and sausages and am just generally healthier foods and reducing my junk food intake. Although there is still some swelling I am not in pain from it anymore
You said that your wife had a branchial cleft cyst. Did she remove it or she's still treating it with herbs. I have the same thing ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE NECK and I don't know what to do. I'm so afraid of the surgery.
