Dr. Pepper is now selling their "real sugar" sodas, like they did long ago. 40 grams per can.
I thought Pepsi and Coke were going to produce their diet drinks with a variation of stevia. It has been a while since they were working on this. Something must be wrong. I'm eagerly awaiting these products. I've avoided soda for several years now due to sugar content.

I wonder what it is for Root Beer? That's the only cola I drink.
Don't know if it's accurate, but I found this online:
Quote:
It actually depends on exactly what kind of soda it is! A can of root beer has about 40 grams of sugar. 4 grams of sugar equals 1 teaspoon, so in a can of root beer there would be 10 teaspoons of sugar!!

Diet drinks with artificial sweetener tricks the body into thinking that it is taking in sugar causing an insulin response. This will cause blood sugar level to drop below normal. It will make you feel hungrier. So, it is better to train your taste bud to take less sugar. I would go for natural fruit juices, herbal or green tea. Water is the best thirst quencher!

Pepsi Cola and Coca Cola are iconic Americana. I can't imagine there are many young Americans, from primary school to college level, who don't partake of one or both of these on a regular basis, if not, in some cases, every day.
12/13 spoonfuls of white sugar per can...Not to mention all the other sugar they get in their diet! Frightening...
No wonder America has an epidemic of obesity and diabetes.
Then you have tooth decay, acid state, disruption of absorbing calcium...
