Default Stupid question: What is the healthiest alcoholic drink?

Stupid I know.. I almost never drink anymore.. because I think alcohol is bad for you. However, every now and then I would like to have a few drinks with friends.. any idea that the least bad for you drink there is??

I normally get Hennesy mixed with water.. instead of coke.. any other ideas?

I wonder how bad alcohol is for digestive issues.. obv. not very good..

I was once talking with the chief brewer of a major distillery. I asked him which alcohol was the best one to drink. He said without question it was Vodka since it is just alcohol cut with water. No other additives.

Hmm yea ive heard that too..

In general I dont like alcohol, and I think its not good for general health.. btu the main reason ive pretty much stopped dirnking at all the past year/half was because of my prostatitis issue.. I noticed when I first started having problems an incerase in symptoms after having a few drinks.. I would get cloudy urine, like.. milky white at the end of it.. so I basically stopped drinking.. But flash forward a year later, and the past few months I had a number of nights out at parties and such where I drank quite a bit, and noticed no real symptoms afterward..

its interesting that before it was causing me a lot of issues and now seemingly none.. but I still want to be very cautious.

I have a feeling that beer/wine was more irritating then liquor..

I love alcohol, frequently but not high intensity. Accroding to macrobiotic theory, the best alcohols are Rice Wine (saki) and UNPASTEURIZED Beer, like you would get at a microbrewery.

UNPASTEURIZED Beer, not such a shock to your system. Everyone is different, alcohol is my second worst enemy. Cold soda(coke) is the number one worst for me.

Haven't really made any research on this but from what I "think I know", a glass of wine is always good for the heart. And then I think Sake is not so bad either. If you're thinking about not drinking something with too much calories, then there's Vodka!

I don't like red wine (to drink), but I'm going try some and drink as much as i can stomach (probably about 1/3 of a wussy sized glass).

I would think Red Wine would be the healthiest due to the Resveratrol it's supposed to contain.
My next guess would be a Beer of some sort. ..maybe a dark beer rather than a light beer.

Yea wine seems like a good choice.. but ive come to the conclusion red wine doesnt agree with my body.. wine and beer dont agree with my system.. for some reason Hennessy (cognac) doesnt seem to irritate me that much. Which is odd because it is kind of like an old aged wine.. but im sure its got a different make up then red wine.. red wine is too acidy and bitter or something.. not sure

If you are sensitive to sulfites, you need organic sulfite free wine. Try some beer at a microbrewery. Cognac is distilled wine. hard stuff is fine, just not to much of it.

Red wine is healthy in moderation. Unfortunately it is also one of my least favorite drinks
