Default Hauser (nutritionist)

Anyone heard of a guy called Gayelord Hauser? He was a nutritionist who seemed to have been way ahead of his time, writing books in the 40s and 50s. Most of what he says makes a lot of sense (though he was laughed at, at the time, as being a fanatic/freak). Some things he says we would raise an eyebrow at today - like, smoking in moderation isnt harmful !

Has anyone else read any of his books? What do you think?

He lived till 89 and was healthy until the last couple months. He was not a fanatic and he promoted whole foods as opposed to junk. The only thing I do not agree with is the black strap molasses.

I looked him up on Wiki - he did seem to get into trouble for promoting health foods and saying that white flour was devoid of nutrients! Now of course, we know better - it is devoid of nutrients! My son tells me that white flour is carbohydrate so not a dead loss - havent taught him very well then.
