Canadian beef shrinks as well when it is cooked, I would guess because of the fat in the meat.

\nI no longer eat shrimp since most is factory farmed, fed synthetic "food".\r\n

\nYes, standard industry practice to \'water boost\'. Meant to help keep the product moist and fresh. Though in reality, when refrigerated the water freezes adding weight and bulk to the product. Increasing the profit margin and making the consumer think they\'re getting more for their money than they actually are.\r\n
