Default Beware of plumbers replacing good copper fixtures

Because copper is so expensive recently a plumber deliberately and unnecessarily replaced a perfectly good piece of copper pipe in my house with a piece of plastic tubing. In other words he stole copper from me and will no doubt sell it. To top things off this guy worked for a very reliable company.

Its your copper pipe, tell him you want it back and ask where it is and complain to the company.

I do not know how wide spread this practice is of taking copper out of people's home but I think the FBI should be told about it. I might try to do this.

I wish I had copper pipes.... why are they getting out of the practice of using copper pipes, does anyone know? From my understanding, copper is an antibacterial, so I would think having copper water pipes, would help insure safer drinking water???

To conclude my above story the owner of the plumbing company I dealt with returned the copper tubing which was removed from my house by his employee. I did not know why the piece was removed in the first place.

The sad part is, that you called them on it...how many people dont realize what they are doing, and are paying for these guys to take their copper pipe without them knowing it....just doesnt sound like a business that I would want to go to

I have my doubts that copper water lines cause health issues, however, the lead solder that is used to connect the pipes together is well known to cause serious issues... remember the Romans..

I don't think this is a new problem... it's happened in years past when copper has gone up in value too.

Copper piping springs little holes from something in water, doesn't it?
