I'm sure some of you have come across those annoying popups that flash or overlay part of something you are reading.
sometimes this is part of forums that use free advertising to pay for them. I understand doing this... and some of these ads are ok, they pertain to the forum, and are valid companies trying to advertise to an interested audience (like the ads to the right hand corner here)... but some of these advertisements are so obnoxious, and obtrusive, that I feel perfectly justified finding ways to get rid of them.
And.. I have found something that eliminates a lot of these obnoxious annoying flashing popups, if you use firefox.
the firefox add-on is "Remove this Permanently". you right click the offensive object, click on remove this, and viola! gone!

addons are very easy to install on firefox. and I love this one. I was using Webdeveloper to do this before, but the "Remove the Permanently" is more tuned to getting rid of this junk. plus it has some nice options, so you can set it to work the way you want.
try it here (a really obnoxious ad):
https://theratpeople.17.forumer.com/
or mercola's site, where when you find an article with google, he wants you to enter your email address even though he already has it. Mercola has really gotten obnoxiously aggressive with his marketing techniques:
https://articles.mercola.com/sites/ar...om-cancer.aspx
now, I just remove the popup, and the image film, and read the article.
