There comes a time
When we head a certain call
When the world must come together as one
There are people dying
And it's time to lend a hand to life
The greatest gift of all
We can't go on
Pretneding day by day
That someone, somewhere will soon make a change
We are all a part of
God's great big family
And the truth, you know love is all we need
[Chorus]
We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day
Just you and me
Send them your heart
So they'll know that someone cares
And their lives will be stronger and free
As God has shown us by turning stone to bread
So we all must lend a helping hand
[Chorus]
We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day
Just you and me
When you're down and out
There seems no hope at all
But if you just believe
There's no way we can fall
Well, well, well, well, let us realize
That a change will only come
When we stand together as one
[Chorus]
We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day
Just you and me
Michael Jackson gave to more charitable causes than any other pop star in history and he spent much time visiting orphanages, hospitals and remote locations to help save children.

I have enjoyed Michael's music since way back when he was a little boy in the Jackson Five. I think my first record was "ABC" on a "45"...looong time ago. I've liked certain songs over the years, but don't consider myself a "superfan".
He was strange in his ways and lifestyle, and I can't say I'm too surprised that he's not longer with us. All I can hope for is that he's resting in peace now.

When I first heard that he died, my flesh said, good!!! but then I heard this little voice in me, reminding me of scriptures, and to be real honest, I feel sorry for the boy. He has to now be judged for his actions, I cant imagine! But then trying to find a channel that isnt immortalizing him (is that the right word?) was frustrating.... I recieved this email this morning.... I agree!!!!

OK, I’m sorry, but somebody has to say it. I am already very tired of the headlines concerning how “the world is morning the loss of Michael Jackson.” Even the Pope made a statement about the great loss to humanity. Actual professional sport teams are displaying symbols of the child molester on their uniforms. He is on the cover of every paper, every mag, every day. Turn on the TV, there he is. We are to mourn the death of him? Sure it is sad he died, maybe even tragic. But to immortalize him?
Folks, we have young men and women giving up their lives for our country and the freedom of others every day. There are young people in Iran who are probably going to be beheaded because they support free elections. There are thousands of children and girls kidnapped every day for the sex trade in Africa and the Far East. And yes, there ARE starving children in Africa . . . STILL! Michael Jackson is not a humanitarian. He has squandered millions on his own lavish pleasures. He is not a spiritual man. He was a odd little man who fondled little boys. Quit anointing him to Sainthood.
I have friends who died in the jungles of Viet Nam 35 years ago and their memory and their sacrifice are STILL more important to me than a dance video. “Thriller” did not change my life. The loss of brave hero friends changed my life. All the POW's that were willing to give their lives for us, the US. They all changed our lives. What about the firemen and police, everyday they put their lives on the line to save what? Your butt!
Hey, you want to mourn something? - Then mourn the homeless, mourn the abused children, mourn the abused women, mourn with the family of a fallen soldier, mourn for the veteran who served his or her country and now spends dreary days in dilapidated hospitals or on the streets.
If you want to celebrate lives . . than celebrate the teacher who taught you to read, celebrate the coach who showed you what being a team member is all about, celebrate the clergy who stand with you in times of sorrow, celebrate the lives of those who hold you in their hearts daily . . . Celebrate your spouse, friends, your children, your parents, your siblings.
My father died in a VA hospital. I celebrate that he died with dignity, honor, and a righteous man.
It is now, that we, the American People, must get our priorities straight, fight for what is right, and take back our America.
