I can back up that statement. Some years ago my sister-in-law who was in her early eighties started to say disconnected things. My brother did not say she had Alzheimer's but called it dementia. On the phone with me there was no doubt she was a bit mixed up. My brother and I got our heads together and our combined knowledge lead him to curcumin and sage. By the end of a year on this stuff her telephone conversations with me were quite normal. She was then driving their powered lawn mower and their truck even in traffic. My brother told me then that he thought his wife was 98% recovered. No doubt there is hope for some people.

Thanks for sharing that BigAl, that's very good! I never heard of Sage for dementia before, but just saw this old article that mentions it https://suite101.com/article/can-sage...isease-a212085.

My aunt died from Alzheimer's, and now that I'm older, I'm concerned about getting it also. I've been taking coconut oil daily as a preventative, and also take Turmeric supplements, but that was mostly for their other benefits like inflammation. Since learning about the Turmeric, I'll need to start using the spice more often, than on the occasional hot vegetable dish. Have to start using the Sage also.

Turmeric is so powerful that the drug companies are coming up with chemical analogues of the curcurminoids to test. (They cannot patent turmeric which works, so they have to come up with something they can charge 5 dollars a pill)

Big pharma, we'd be lost without them.

I always wonder HOW to add. When. Amount.

So many different suggestions.

There is a question posted if the amount is for the powder or extract.

Also, someone claims it isn't good to take any spices in isolation. So the item should be added to food. Like salads? Rice? I don't do potatoes. Soups? 1/4 tsp in broth, maybe? Grind up some sage?

I've used Turmeric on steamed vegetables and potato dishes...lately I've been adding more. Not sure about taking spices in isolation being a problem, I take the Turmeric supplements sometimes without concern about that.
