I heard on Nat News last night that gasoline is rising sky high again..almost up to $5.00 in parts of Cal.
I've been snowed/iced in for a few days so have no idea what it is here in N. Ky....last week was $3.69.9 I think.
Sheeesh there goes the cost of everything else again.!!!!!!

Hope you're thawing out there EarlyBird. I just gassed up, and it was $3.01 per gal., another station had a "low" of $2.97.

Here in Aus we are paying $1.50 a litre, around $6 a gallon, and the food goes up as well.
Ouch ozzie, that IS a high price! Yes, and the cost of food, utilities, etc. always seems to be going up in unreasonable amounts. The average working person often suffers the most to make ends meet.
If you think those prices are high, you should try living in England!!!

I have heard horror stories about your prices Knight. 9 dollar a gallon gas, expensive subways and very expensive taxis. This was 1989, a friend of mine went to London for 6 weeks one summer to use a library there for research. He rented a room from some family and they returned one night after going for Chinese meal. They told my friend it was 60 dollars for the 4 of them and my friend had to explain that it would have been 25 bucks max in the states. Another friend was there (London) a month ago for work. He said a decent meal at a nice restaurant would easily be 100 bucks for one person.
When asked Obamas Secretary of Energy Stephen Chu, said those steep prices aren't even a concern. In fact, he says his goal is not to get the price of gasoline to go down. Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gas to the levels in Europe.
Decrease in annual Gulf of Mexico oil production 2009 to 2012 === 120 million barrels.
Blocking the Keystone pipe line 830,000 barrels.
Oil production on federal lands down 11% last year.
Drilling plans approved this year 23%. Historically this rate would be 73%
The overall goal is to decrease our dependency on oil, to build and strengthen our economy."
If anyone believes that then I have a bridge for sale.

The price of gas in the UK is $12.92 gallon so you have a fair way to go yet.
The price of gas/oil is such a fake. The oil is traded in US dollars, so why when the British pound is twice the value of the dollar, does it cost so much in Britain?
The oil companies average 3 billion per month profit each. Yet they still claim that they need millions from us in research money (subsidies).
And what's with that Keystone thing? Can't we just help Canada to build a refinery? We can still spend billions of money to buy their oil. What's the big deal? Texas has experiences 2 minor earthquakes in the past year. I don't know about the other states which this thing is going to go through. Fresh water is a precious commodity in this area of the country. We don't need any other complications. Besides, Keystone would not be finished for years. What a waste.

We have a similar situation here with our refinery. Today $4.19 down from $4.25.
But isnt it interesting that in a supposedly competitive industry that a company would be running their plant at virtually 100% of its output and with no reserve capacity? Thus any hic-cup in production means they will be unable to supply the demand.
Of course if they dont have any competition thats not a problem, at least for them, because all they do is say Oops so sorry but you are going to have to pay more until we get this fixed. Obviously we cant let something like this effect our bottom line.
Chemical processing plants are BIG BUCKS which is why they run flat out 24/7 until you shut down for rebuild. If the price didn't go up, you'd have shortages.
Oh how I long for the days when I could get in my car and just drive drive drive.
Now I feel homebound and fret over the cost of every little excursion
