Default Homemade Soap

Does anyone make their own soap?

It looks like it would be a worthwhile venture.

This is a video from About.com

I'm wondering if I should use lye or tallow, or neither.lol

Hi Cookie, I buy homemade goatsmilk soap from a lady down here in our area... her website is lonesomedoenubian.com The only ingredients in her soap are goats milk, coconut and sunflower oils and shea butter... and other essential oils for frangrance.. we love the tea tree oil soap, and the eucalyptus soap!!! Maybe her site, or an email to her can give you more information...

I remember Rosie^o^ asking about soapmaking in the other forum, so I went looking...(*) here is the thread where she discusses it.. has a couple of websites. I loved the idea of the plants that produce soap when used.. I have spent many years trying to find a mountain lilac tree, and have finally found a baby on ebay!! I cant wait to have it grow big enough to produce flowers! wouldnt it be awesome to be able to pick up a handful of flower petals and bath with them! I am going to start looking int other plants for soap too. www.healthiertalk.com :: View topic - SOAPMAKING

(*) I love the idea that "Barbara" posted over there giving our forum addy!!! WAY TO GO BARBARA!!!!!

I shared my recipe for laundry soap here:
/f47/3784-laundry-soap.html

Its really good and I no longer purchase detergent from the store. Only a couple of pennies per load.

I'd like to learn how to make a liquid hand and face soap that you can use from a pump

I just found these links on another forum that might be helpful. Haven't looked at them yet
