Any recommendations here?

I have a lot of work I would like done to my teeth but have no insurance. I've hunted up and down the web and can only find stuff like 10-50% discount plans. What the heck is one supposed to do when their mouth is in need of help?

Depends on where you live, I would search out dentist in lower middle class areas, they can be half price for the same work.

Some cities have a free dental clinic for one day annually, first come, first serve basis. But I think they only do basic work that's needed, nothing elaborate. Not sure where you'd go for extensive work, maybe a dental school, but there you're taking your chances.

I am in the same position I think last time I went to a dentist was 2002 or 2003.

Don't tell me you still drink soda instead of water or other forms of sugared water, eat lots of sugary products, etc.? My philosophy is people lived their whole lives for so long without brushing or dentists. I figure if I brush and moderate my diet, I should get along and I largely have. When I feel a pain, I try to eliminate even more sugar than before.

Two of my friends went to dental schools to have extensive work done. The cost was about half what had been quoted by private dentists.

I suggest looking for a free clinic first. They may be able to provide some assistance and other alternatives.

I'm finding that a lot of those dental plans are scams. If you ask a dentist in the plan and pay with cash you can, in many cases, get the same price or cheaper.

Also dental schools often are like half price. It takes longer and the work is supervised so it's not that bad of a deal. Otherwise that's about it unfortunately.

I just read an interesting article on using food to heal dental cavities. Try googling Weston Price+ dental cavities. He suggests using both cod liver oil and butter from grass fed cows...its the combination of natural D and K1 and K2 that heals the teeth.
