Curious to hear if anyone else has made a Stinging Nettle Milkshake
Yes, about 1x cup of raw Stinging Nettles (roughly cut / chopped) to 500ml of milk
This then get liquidized for a few minutes after which I put it through a stainer (sieve) with large holes and a second strainer (sieve) with fine holes to remove most of the Stinging Nettle stems remaining fiber
As is, the mixture does not taste bad but by adding 1x egg and 3-5ml of Vanilla Essence and sweetener to taste it changes into a delicious milkshake
My 13 year old daughter and I love the taste and have it at least twice a week. Her most probably as a milkshake and myself as a medication
After a many years of sports (Martial arts and BMXing) my joints only wake up way later than the time I got out of bed
Anti Inflammatories at one stage was a part of my diet on a daily basis
With the introduction of Stinging Nettles into my diet December 2012 the need for Anti Inflammatories became less and I have not taken them for the past 2x months
Now, after a day of cycling with the kids I get home, have a milkshake and wake up the next morning feeling many a year younger
Now, my question is..
Have anyone else tried this?
If so, were there any side effects?
I have Googled but can not find anything related to a Stinging Nettle Milkshake
(well, after this post there should at least be one hit)
It may lower blood pressure and heart rate, and long-term use is discouraged due to its diuretic effects. Here's a bit more info from our Wiki...https://www.natmedtalk.com/wiki/Nettle

Back in the days of old England the peasants, who were dirt poor, used to eat cooked stinging nettles regularly. They are very nutritious/rich in minerals.
Not sure about using them in a milkshake though...
