Default Stretching can be GOOD for you, too after exercising.

I just love the classical stretch lady - Miranda Esmonde White! Love her!

Completed two evenings of her 25 minute stretch outs and I AM IN LOVE. Found them on a PBS channel and am now a classical stretchy for sure.

I can feel that I have stretched - worked out without PAIN. I love knowing I am STRETCHING. I will go for an hour's walk in a few minutes at this gorgeous park we have near here and make sure I remember to tune in at 6pm to catch another stretch routine.

She is an ex-ballerina.

Stretching does feel so good, especially after exercise. The cool-down stretch at the end of my Zumba class is enjoyed by all. The back stretches are nice like looking toward the ceiling followed by rounding the back like a cat arch, and the hugging a tree, or giving yourself a hug stretch, really makes the back feel great.

K2C the stretch after my zumba is my favourite! Makes me feel so good and like my body can actually move a lot more freely and easily! Also whenever I get tense or stressed I do a couple of stretches, always manages to make me feel better.

Darn! I missed today's session! I am going to just buy one of the dvds. They are that good. Or is it Jamaica in the background that is calling to me?

The stretches are amazing. Eccentrics. Classical Stretch. For old or young. Doesn't matter JUST DO IT!!!

Most memorable stretch, which I haven't done in a long time, is sitting on the floor, legs flat forward. Cross the right leg over the left and bend knee, placing right foot outside of left knee.

Then, place left hand on outside of right knee, while twisting the body to the right and looking over the right shoulder. Look with head as far as possible and hold. Great spine stretch, gets the fluids flowing. I think it was from one of my old Reebok Step Aerobics tape, feel good ending!

Stretching is incredibly important, before and AFTER exercise!

I'm glad someone brought this up. You know the reason it's important right? (besides the fact that it feels good )

The reason it is good to stretch after a workout is that muscles when used extensively tend to like to contract and "lock up" (not sure how to explain it I hope you understand what I mean). So by stretching out slowly after the workout you can help keep the muscles from contracting too quickly, locking up and causing severe cramps.

So stretch away!

Would so love to book a ME-W getaway/retreat to Jamaica and stretch in Montego Bay. I have never been there and I feel it is crucial to be IN Jamaica with this instructor, in order to do the stretches properly!

Just can't afford it

I honestly never stretch to be honest. I probably should stretch after exercising, but I know it's been study a lot that stretching before exercise isn't as important as once thought and that warm ups have a bigger role than stretching prior to exercising. I honestly only stretch prior to lifting weights is prior to bench pressing and also when I do squats and I'm just guessing that's it's old habits I can break. Of course I still warm up with at least two sets prior to doing my routine.

Im not sure what the deal is with these stretching regimens, but I absolutely love them. It is amazing to see how much more limber I am. I want to be able to touch my knee to my forehead. Right now it's about a mile away...but getting closer each stretch...I want to do her anti-stress dvd. Then legs. Upperarms. CORE. Oh GOD. CORE work is the best support for your back.
