Default Knee and Ghost Like Pains!

My knees have been a problem for a couple of years, most days they give me pain and as we head into winter the pain increases. Also the backs of my legs have the ghost like pains, similar to when a cramp is about to start. I believe the ghost like pains may be due to an operation I had in 2004 which lasted 13 hrs, and when after four weeks I tried to walk I fell to the floor in a heap! I had to learn how to walk all over again! I gave my surgeon a heart attack! He later said I was his most difficult patient - well the body anyway! I am not able to get out much due to various health problems, so lack of mobility doesn't help.
Any suggestions most greatly appreciated.

Namaste,

rev

Supplementing with Magnesium (citrate or malate), and using Magnesium Oil transdermally, can help with pains and tension related to cramps.

Besides the usual joint supplements which contain Glucosamine, MSM (Methylsulphonylmethane) can be useful in dealing with pain caused by inflammation.

I had back and knee pains for years til I started taking Neocell Super Collagen. Its inexpensive to try and you could notice relief fairly quickly. There are a lot of reviews on iherb to check out. I agree also with magnesium for the near cramps. I take Natural Calm...also good for easing you into sleep. The collagen worked for my dogs, too, so I know its not placebo.

If you don't get out much I'd suppliment my vitamin D. Without sunlight, our bodies cannot make vitamin D.

Wow this is very interesting. I used to have the same ghost like pain you described at the back of my legs. I too had an operation where they removed a bit of my thigh muscle to test to see if I was allergic to anaesthetic. It never crossed my mind that the two could be related. I then had an operation on my left knee where they cut my bone and put a wedge in it to make it longer and to prevent my joints rubbing together. During the operation my heart stopped. However since then the 'ghost pain' has never come back
