I would stay way from any kind of refined sugar (I mean ZERO) and sugar in general, except for frutose. Also, remove all antibiotic-raised meat you're eating, increase the number of organic vegetables (maybe a juice in the morning and before going to bed) and keep the water intake at >2L daily. I personally drink 5L, but is probably unpractical for everybody.

Ammm, I was thinking similar things when I read about the cleanse in the first place.
To OP... cleanses are great, BUT keep in mind that if the rest of your diet is not already established to heal you and support health then all the cleanses in the world will not help you but in-fact can cause more problems through severe healing crises'. So... what I would recommend would be to start with your day-to-day diet first before jumping in and investing in cleanses that could harm you in the long run.
1. Start reading labels, on EVERYTHING. Including fruit juices, "natural" products, even organic products. Just because something is labelled or promoted as being healthy means NOTHING. Many products sold in health-food stores are very harmful to the body so read ALL labels all the time.
2. Try to buy organic whenever possible. If chemicals are sprayed on or fed to your food you will end up eating it.
3. Make food from scratch - no more noodles in a cup for example. If the food comes pre-packaged it is more likely to contain chemical additives, flavorings, colors, preservatives, etc. All of these are damaging to the body.
4. Drink water or organic teas vs. juices, soda, etc. Why organic tea? Again, if your tea leaves were ever sprayed with chemicals or fed them, you're gonna end up drinking them. If plain water puts you off add lemon and stevia to make a lemonade. The lemon is good to detox with too.
5. Buy stevia to sweeten things with. And again, read the label. You want stevia that is ONLY stevia, not stevia with inulin fiber (you won't like the taste, trust me). KAL brand makes a plain stevia you can order online if you do a search. The bottle is tiny, comes with a measuring spoon in it, but trust me it goes a LONG LONG way. Usually for me alone their smallest bottle lasts over a year and I use stevia daily in various things.
What to avoid and what to buy... sometimes for me it is easier to aim for what to buy rather than avoid (there is a LOT to avoid). Basically if I don't know what it is I don't buy it. Like "natural flavoring" or "natural spices" and such... don't know exactly what those flavorings are or spices so I don't buy the product.
Buy :
Chicken, Fish, Seafood, Fruits, Vegetables, Greens, Beans, Mushrooms, Sprouts, Teas, Nuts (unsalted!), Kefir, Kimchi, other fermented foods
Avoid :
Red Meats, Potatoes, Fruit Juices, Canned Products, Processed or Pre-packaged meals/snacks/foods, soy, peanuts, wheat, corn, sugar, unfermented dairy (milk, butter), cheese.
Changing your diet will be a "cleanse" in and of itself for you, and should always be the first thing someone changes in an effort to be healthier before jumping from cleanse to cleanse because it's become a fad.
