'Forests, lakes, and rivers, clouds and winds, stars and flowers, stupendous glaciers and crystal snowflakes - every form of animate or inanimate existence, leaves its impress upon the soul of man.'
~Orison Swett Marden

The art of medicine consists of amusing the patient while nature cures the disease
'In some mysterious way woods have never seemed to me to be static things. In physical terms, I move through them; yet in metaphysical ones, they seem to move through me.'
~John Fowles
Very few people really truly enjoy nature as it is meant to be enjoyed. Too many people think they need all the equipment and accessories to go on a hike, go to a beach or paddle on a river. They think of outdoor recreation as something they need to prepare for.
Me, I just walk through the woods in a T shirt and jeans, shoes hardly matter. I'll see a lake or river and jump in with my clothes on. Heck, if it's warm, I'll stay cool and my seats are leather so who gives a .....! I'll go off the trail and just make my way through the thick brush just because I feel like it. Why take the path so traveled? Make your own. Lay in the woods next to the river, fall asleep, whatever. I just love being outside. It's no planned recreational activity and excuse for exercise, it's just part of my life. Like I said, I'm a Wisconsin hick...

Same here! I hate being indoors unless it's really buggy muggy or icy cold outside.
The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God.
Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy amidst the simple beauty of nature
There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society where none intrudes,
By the deep Sea, and music in its roar:
I love not Man the less, but Nature more
It must be so sad to be blind and not be able to see the beautiful sunsets and sunrises that nature presents.
Well, but if you've never experienced it... you wouldn't understand the magnitude of what you're missing, so no worries ozzie
Watching the sunset was part of the daily routine when my kids were growing up. We'd run out & sit on the swingset every night after dinner and ouuu & ahhhed as if we were watching fireworks lol They'd drag it out til everything was grey as they knew baths & bed was next.....hahaha
