What do you all think of the proposed $250 check sent to all Seniors due
to no increase in Soc Sec. in 2010 because there's no Inflation? HaHa?
They don't count cost of food or winter's biggie energy. I sure haven't
seen food getting cheaper, have you? Is it worth $13 Billion more in debt?
I do have friends who exist on SS only and for them I would say yes. But
an across the board $250 for all Seniors, I don't agree to.
Any comments on this?

. . . just more of the kind of thing that destroyed self-reliance
in what was the good 'ol U.S.of A . . . once the land of the

entitlements, stupidity and a goverance by idiots.

I'm a senior citizen and in the past few months the interest rate increases on my credit cards has cost me almost that much already! I turned down the $300 check last time. I didn't want any part of sinking our country deeper in debt. I needed it as much as anyone, but not that bad.
I feel as you do, nightowl, tho I did accept the first $300. I guess if
we do receive it, I'll use it to pay for my supplements. I spend at least
that much every 2 months for those. But personally, I'd rather not get
the dole out and add to the national debt.
That's a good point too Dan, but I feel pretty slighted when I think of those fat-cat bankers walking away with billions of dollars and our livelyhood!
Take the money and run I say. Better sent to you than to a stupid war, or Haliburton, or any of the other thieves out there.
Go spend your money in a mom and pop store that is struggling to survive, not one owned by an internationalist corporation that takes profits out of the country.
If we spent our time and money taking care of ourselves and our people, promoting sustainability in energy and construction, educating our children, rather than promoting war and all the idiotic things our government does internationally we could take care of all our seniors quite well.

Very few Mom and Pop stores left around here; maybe a few small restaurants
and one local hardware store. Most all others are big retail outlets or national
chains.
