Server Move

I can understand that. Comcast is really high-speed where I live and if my computer slows down for any reason I catch myself clicking over and over thinking it isn't working, and then I really get in a mess!! I have to figure out how to back out of it. Thanks goodness I have grandchildren to rescue me, and sometimes my brother in Houston helps me remotely. It seems really fast today, both my computer and this server. Thanks again!

Microsoft is good. The new server is using an IP which was blocked by their email services (Hotmail, MSN and Live.com). I submitted a request, only a few hours later, they lifted the ban with a very personal reply. It made my day.

But unfortunately, there is something wrong with the hard disk of the server, it has to be replaced. There will be several hours downtime in the next few days.

No matter the forum is small or big, I'm always after 100% up time, so here is the status update, just want you know what's going on when it's inaccessible.

The hard disk has been replaced, the forum was down for four hours. The hard disk error looks very small (I even wanted to live with it) affected many files, fortunately I have many backups and nothing lost, but there could be undiscovered errors. Please let me know if you find anything unusual, very unlikely though.

Sorry for any inconvenience. But this is an accident which happens very rarely, probably never for many admins.

As a reminder, if you have important files you can't afford to lose in your computer, make sure you have a backup, a very safe and convenient way is just sending them to your Gmail account.
