" The medical profession is unconciously irritated by lay knowledge"

"I have spent 5 years in training and have a diiploma on the wall to prove it. Where's yours? " That appears to be the type of answer I have heard from people who have tried to 'educate' their doctors.

I wouldn't bother if I was you, most doctors will resent it and class you as an internet 'knowall'. This will affect your future relationship and foster a tendency to get you out of his office as quickly as possible whenever you visit.

If I were you, I'd just do the research and put your key points in a nutshell to tell him in person. He may not have the time or desire to actually read articles. If his ego is so big that he gets mad when you even talk about it, I'd get another doctor.

I don't deal with doctors too often, but when my Vet wanted to put my dog on a pain medication, I researched the side-effects, and he was happy to listen to what I had to say, and agreed that a more natural supplement can be tried first...pain prescription on hand for any bad days.

What's the medication, are you concerned about the side effects?
