Cyber-junkie,
To protect the innocent I feel I have to amend something I said earlier under another username (which has been changed to protect all concerned) so my earlier statement was: "First of all, all those Tums you used, because they are a limestone product with no Vitamin D, magnesium, phosphorus, etc. are a bad choice of anti-acid. Because they are calcium carbonate without Vitamin D, recent studies suggest they actually deplete the body's stores of Vitamin D. I am glad to see you are now taking vitamin D but keep in mind, depending on how long you used the Tums, your immune system has taken a hit!"
The amendment is: "It is
my understanding, from trusted sources that all those Tums you used, because they are a limestone product with no Vitamin D, magnesium, phosphorus, etc.
could be a bad choice of anti-acid,
over an extended period. Because,
as I have understood them to be calcium carbonate without Vitamin D, recent studies
suggest they may actually deplete the body's stores of Vitamin D. I am glad to see you are now taking vitamin D but keep in mind, depending on how long you used the Tums,
possibly your immune system has taken a hit!
Note: The above statements are not to be considered medical advise. Nor should they be considered as authoritive on the value of Tums. I AM NOT a
medical doctor and do not diagnose illness or prescribe medicine.
