Default About Spelling Errors

Since when have we been stooping to nagging about spelling errors and slashing people on such errors? This takes us back to the healthiertalk days which I had thought we had risen above.

Please members do not participate in this type of belittling. It does not make you look very gracious nor receptive to new people and it is clearly an attack if directed to long term members, an irrelevant attack at that.
None of us here are perfect and most of us are not great typers.

Moderators I would hope you slam such behavior.

I did not intuit that that post was a spam... but we sure were insulting in reply.

Healthier Talk.

I do not know how I ever tolerated that place. It was like a bad high school, only not as civil, or mature.

I am glad it is gone. There were several good posts from helpful people also, but it was like digging through the manure pile looking for gold.

I learned a lot, but was disappointed by the culture of the place.

I liked the old forum.

Sure it was raw and rude, but it was always exciting. I had sooo many people yelling and swearing at me, and that reminds me... what ever happened to Iggy? And Ralph..

As far as the spelling goes, everyone makes mistakes.

I gess wee cud awl lurn a leson heer.

My spelling is great. It's my keyboard that is sometimes evil.

Isn't that what the media says about guns?

I'm glad Kevin provided this forum. It is like a sanctuary from that HSI forum. Members seemed to flee here for relief. Thank goodness. There were real troublemakers. Most I remember is socalgal and wombat going after each other. Then there was donna in various iterations of that name.

As the resident amateur self ordained behavioral psychologist let me say this: anyone who needlessly finds fault with another's person's spelling has sociopath leanings. That is to say that that "anyone" in being critical tries to hurt someone. As if we didn't all know.
By the way, I find, after butting into many women's private lives, that my observation about a women's hair length as an indicator of what the sex of her children will be holds pretty much true. Ahem. Thank you for the applause.

Quite right. I'm on a few forums where a lot of the members don't have English as a first language, so you do get a few errors in spelling and grammer, but wheter its there or here, the meaning is clear, so what does it matter?

I'm only interested in the heart and soul of a person, and wheter their motive is good, not how accurate or otherwise their spelling is!

Spelling errors I don't mind at all - I was an elementary school teacher.
Just deliver me from phone conversations with foreign speaking reps whom I can't understand because of their accent.
I've learned to NEVER try to order anything during the evening - usually do it mid day now - better!
Spelling errors - with me, when I type, my fingers often hit a key next to the key I want.
Also, it's easy to transpose 2 letters if typing fast. teh for the lats for last,
One's fingers get ahead of one's brain.
Some words I have to look up still so I keep a dictiomnary - dictionary
See, I did it just now - hit adjacent keys. LOL!
Also, UKingdon - Brits, spell some words differently than we do - cheque for check. I learned that from Xania/Jo
So, just be kind hearted to/with each other!

If I misspell a word I can usually tell if it is wrong, but I wont always know how to correct it.
Long live my computers spell checker as it picks up words that I thought were correct. I would be lost without it. Also Im in the habit of using the preview before posting. Just by seeing the post in a slightly different format frequently helps me to see obvious errors.

And then I have my trusty Radio Shack spell checker that more often then not can figure out some of my misspellings better then my computer.
