\r\n \r\n Is America becoming malnourished and why?

\nDr. Bob Tuber, botany and plant pathology of Purdue University says after 20 years of study of glyphosate Monsanto\'s Roundup herbicide, which is used extensively in genetically modified crops, findings show this herbicide reduces manganese in plants and causes plants to provide up to 50% less nutrition. Micronutrients such as manganese, copper, potassium, iron, magnesium, calcium and zinc are essential to human health and all of them including minerals are reduced by glyphosate (RoundUp). He goes on to say these toxins can produce serious impact on the health of animals and humans.

\nDr. Tuber says it is hard to find one acre of land in the US that has not been sprayed with Round Up over the last three years. He warned that it is just a matter of time before we see more serious negative ramifications. We will have increased toxin levels in crops and reduced nutrient values impacting animals and humans.

\nHe also goes on to say that toxins produced can infect the roots and head of plants and be transferred into the rest of the plant. The toxin levels in straw can be high enough to make cattle and pigs infertile.

\nDr. Tuber said that he visited a potato seed farmer in Minnesota who grew 1000 acres of seed potatoes. There was so much glyphosate in the potato tubers from a previous crop of Roundup Ready soybeans that the potatoes can\'t be used as seed and could not be certified.

\nGlyphosate in RoundUp kills weeds by tying up essential nutrients needed to keep plant defenses active. They don\'t kill weeds directly but shuts down their defense against diseases in the soil which in turn causes toxins in our food. There are 40 diseases reported with use of glyphosate (Round Up) and that number is still growing.
\n
\nDr. Tuber is not the only one to show data of the negative effects caused by glyphosate. Robert Kremer, microbiologist with the US Department of Agriculture, University of Missouri reported since beginning his study in 1997, he has reported the altering of soil biology and state he has gone all the way to top administrators but they are reluctant to publish. Their thinking is that if farmers are using Roundup technology, USDA doesn\'t want negative information being released about it and that his findings are still setting on someone\'s desk.

\nWho would have ever guessed that using pesticides on the soil would cause less nutrition and maybe much diseases? Could it be the next greatest commudity will be land free of pesticide use? Not sure but for now, test your next garden plot for any contaminates - check the seeds for genetically modified and share with your neighbor.
