Well its pretty simple...the whole population is just growing older and older, nobody is dying off like they used to. Plus, medical field jobs now are so high tech and the training, or in a doctors case medical schooling can take years, and put people in debt before the even find a job, plus its super stressful, because your dealing with someones life in your hands. Your always worried if someone is going to sue the pants off of you and ruin you. I know I wouldnt want anything to do with the medical field! What a nightmare profession.

Funny how much has changed since this topic was first written. The idea of there being a shortage of nurses is now not true. Hospitals are under a hiring freeze. To even think about a nursing job now you will need a 4 year RN degree and three years experience. LPN's are not even used anymore. CNA's make around 9 dollars an hour. Many people think I am crazy say all this about there being no jobs. Go to the forums and read what people are saying today. I was shocked to find all this out.

I guess hospitals are on budgets just like the rest of us. Plus with so many people out of work
& having no Health Insurance, hospitals have to foot the bills for them.

Good point. I had to go to the doctor recently and he asked me who my primary care Physician was, I told him the emergency room.
