I don't think the new health plan will replace Medicare. I also think that the Plan B supplement hole will be filled; so you won't have to pay for drugs when you reach the first limit. You may still wish to get a supplemental policy to help with all the outrageous costs.

I was hoping the new plan would have a public option; so these ridiculous insurance companies will downgraded to supplemental status.

I never bought into one since my only med is Insulin and test strips.
My deceased husband's coverage allows me to order from Express Scripts,
with a $30.00 co-pay for 3 months worth at a time.

I am a baby boomer as I am sure many of you out there are. As baby boomers we will soon be a part of the largest segment of the individuals that has ever been recorded. We number in the millions and already consist of one third of the population. Do you know how many votes that is? How long do you think any politicians who try to do away with social security or medicare without coming up with a plan to take of us will last? In my opinion even if they do away with programs that we have spent our life contributing to they will have to come up with something acceptable to take their place. I they don't I really believe there will be those in office very quickly who will.
I have medicare and medicare supplement to protect me in case of an extended illness. I found it to be very reasonably priced compared to what I was paying before Medicare. If anyone out there needs any information on the subject this site has helped answer many questions for me.
