It is definitely on the Obama Lame Duck Agenda. Our friends in DC have confirmed this. \n \nYesterday the Senate voted to end debate (cloture) on bill $.510, setting the stage for a final vote. The exact schedule of voting is not clear. What is clear is that this bill, and its horrific companion pieces MUST NOT be allowed to pass despite the determination of the worst combination of Lame Duck destructiveness, Corporate greed and Regulatory irresponisiblity. \n \n \nThe delays, if they occur, may, in fact, be exactly what we need. The President, Secretary Sebelius and the US Senate have been bombarded with more than 600,000 emails from you and more from the supporters of the many, many health and food freedom groups who have followed our leads and asked their supporters to send the same message to the same recipients: DON\'T YOU DARE! \n \n \nSo we may have hours or days to make sure that we still have food freedom without having to fight for repeal or use other strategies to make sure that we control the quality of the food that we eat. This gives all of us -' + '- the commonsense opponents of S.510 who don\'t want the FDA having authority over raw milk, seeds and backyard gardens -' + '- another week to flood the offices of U.S. Senators with calls, faxes and emails that express opposition to the bill. \n \nThe jury is still out on the Tester-Hagan Amendment which would exempt small farmers from some of the more tyrannical requirements under the law. If this amendment were adopted, it would substantially improve the bill, but even with this amendment, the bill is just another overreaching expansion of Big Government into yet another area of incompetence. (If the government can\'t run health care worth a darn, how are they supposed to manage the entire food supply?) \n \n \nThe 1099 paperwork amendment \n \nAs part of this debate over the safety of the food supply, Sen Mike Johanns is making a courageous attempt to kill the new, idiotic 1099 reporting requirement that would require every person running a small business in America to get 1099 forms from Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Costco, Amazon.com or any other retailer where they\'ve spent over $600 in the previous year. \n \nThis absolute nightmare of 1099 paperwork was passed as part of the Obamacare health care reform legislation earlier this year (https://www.naturalnews.com/028854_1...). It will turn America\'s small business owners into paperwork pack rats and criminalize anyone who doesn\'t spent several hundred hours a year chasing 1099 forms from corporations that are almost certain to refuse to give them to you. This is the government\'s way of penalizing small business owners in America and killing off yet more jobs as a way to destroy the economy. \n \nThis 1099 recall is the only real positive thing being considered in the Food Safety and Modernization Act. And as you\'ve probably noticed, it has nothing to do with food. \n \n \nWhat comes next for S.510 \n \nOn Monday, November 29, a vote will be taken on the Harkin amendment, which is merely a rephrasing of the bill with some new wording that came out of committee. \n \nAfter that, a vote is planned for the bill itself, meaning S.510 could be passed into law on November 29th. \n \nAdditional debate time might be invoked for various amendments to the bill, as there are some motions still pending (Johanns, Baucus, Coburn). So it\'s not a given thing that a final vote will happen on Nov 29th. \n \nWatch NaturalNews.com for more updates on this bill throughout next week. We will continue to rally opposition to the bill. \n \nI\'m not against some commonsense improvements in food safety, but to give Big Brother yet more control over seed saving, backyard food production and small organic farms is an outright disaster, not an improvement. \n \nBesides, as we now know, the problem with e.coli, salmonella and other pathogensin the food supply is really a problem with factory animal farms -' + '- notably cattle and chicken operations. That\'s where these pathogens come from (e.coli grows in the intestines of animals), so cleaning up factory animal farms is the answer to food safety, not invoking the FDA and its food irradiation agenda. \n \n \nWhy not hand the FDA more power over our food supply? \n \nIt\'s amazing to see that people are lining up to grant more power to the FDA -' + '- the very agency that has killed more Americans through its corruption, fraud and negligence than any other organization in the history of the nation. \n \nI\'ve written a full story on this important fact, which details how the FDA is far more dangerous than terrorists and that putting the FDA in charge of our national food supply can only lead to disaster. Read that story at: https://www.naturalnews.com/030461_S... \n \n \nTake action now to stop S.510 \n \nYour voice needs to be heard on this issue. The vote on this bill has been delayed until after the Thanksgiving recess, so you have more time to oppose this dangerous legislation. \n \nCall the Capitol Switchboard and ask to be directly connected to your Senator\'s office: 202-224-3121. \n \nYou can find other contact information for your US Senator at https://senate.gov/general/contact_i... \n \nOther petitions on the \'net where you can voice your opposition to this bill include: \n \nCitizens for Health \nhttps://www.citizens.org/?page_id=2312 \n \nNatural Solutions Foundation \nhttps://salsa.democracyinaction.org/...\r\n \r\n __________________ \r\n <!-' + '- / sig -' + '->\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n <!-' + '- message, attachments, sig -' + '->\r\n\r\n \r\n "We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals." ~Immanual Kant~ \r\n \r\nNatMedTalk and Beyond\r\n | \r\n

Danger! S510 May Pass. Take Action Now!
I found this on another forum. We really need to take action now! and repeatedly! If it continue like this this bill will pass, and it will be a further step towards loss of freedom, producing and sell or trading or giving away food you grow yourself. You can forget those eggs you get from your neighbor!
Sponsor of the Bill is Richard Durbin-Dem. - Illinois Since I had to look it up myself, I will point out for the sake of others like me that "passing a cloture vote" means they now must start winding up debate on a bill and move on towards votin' on it. A congressional rule originally intended to break filibusters. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloture In case any of you would like to try and change a few senators minds, here is the break down of the cloture vote yesterday: U.S. Senate Roll Call Votes 111th Congress - 2nd Session as compiled through Senate LIS by the Senate Bill Clerk under the direction of the Secretary of the Senate Vote Summary Question: On the Cloture Motion (Motion to Invoke Cloture on the Motion to Proceed to S. 510 ) Vote Number: 250 Vote Date: November 17, 2010, 11:32 AM Required For Majority: 3/5 Vote Result: Cloture Motion Agreed to Measure Number: S. 510 (FDA Food Safety Modernization Act ) Measure Title: A bill to amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act with respect to the safety of the food supply.
