Funny, TC LasVegas wants to know why you are there.....can't anyone just be a nice guy in this world? I want to know why no one mentions it as a option for prostate cancer.
Thanks for your posts, it has turned out great that men other than the ones working for the forum have come forward and posted what they know about HIFU, and they have posted links, so they validated the topic..... wonder if it will all be erased.....then we will know they are working for the AMA, trying to keep info down.
It is the same technology as radiation, but the entrenched interests are trying hard to say HIFU can only be used in early localized cases, when that just is not true, common sense will tell you that! If radiation will work, then HIFU will work.
Thanks Arrowwind. You might have saved someone over there.

Thing is everytime the word HIFU is posted maybe someone will look into it. That's all I want is to tell people is exists and it is good.
All those guys have prostate cancer (or say they do), and I think they will remove you because you don't--you just say you know someone who had it. I posted that I had prostate cancer and was cured with HIFU and they accused me of advertising for the machine.......crazy, they just don't know about HIFU (or they work for surgeons and radiologists), Purgatory said Dr. Scionti doesn't exist....they over react. They cheat the public of valuable information.

If you are not a trusted member there, you claim a cure for a deadly disease, any moderators would be concerned, and honestly, these HIFU posts make me nervous.
I checked out those HIFU links in your post, as well as hifu.ca, all of them are rarely mentioned anywhere on the Internet. I don't know anything about HIFU, but as an experienced webmaster, it's hard to imagine it cured many patients. Even if it's blogged by only several cured patients or their friends, it would be quite different.

go to yananow.net an independent site where men can write about their treatments.
The thing is, all forms of treatments can fail, and maybe it's really just the doctor who foiled the outcome. Experience counts.
radiation has a 25% fail rate........probably the same as HIFU. Although HIFU won't leave you in diapers like radiation does. Failure can also be caused because the cancer is outside the gland, and maybe already inside the bone.
The rectal fistula is caused from the machine not cooling properly, that's why Dr. Scionti brings a certified mechanic to monitor the machine.
European data says HIFU has a 94% success rate.
It's funny all this talk about "long term data of 10-15 years", please, most of these men are 65 years old. And you can still do HIFU again, or radiation or surgery.
Face it, the cost of ultrasound is cheap cheap, the AMA is sweating the loss of money. They are doing their best to down play the results.

Please don't get me wrong, I didn't mean it's not a cure or it had low success rate. Take hifu.ca as an example, as a 4-year old site, so few citations on the Internet, to me, it suggests that few people have actually tried HIFU.

I agree dawna, I have actually been aware of this procedure for some time. The outcomes are similar but the side effects much less...and let me tell you, as a hospice nurse, those side effects can kill and if they don't kill you you end up wishing they would because the pain and angst they can cause can be extreme.
Like for so many things if you can afford it you will do better with cancer in a clinic outside of the USA.
BTW, I'm done with that other forum. Its giving me a headache. They say in the rules that you can't put up links and studies and I have not so but other are and not getting any flack. Now they are telling me that cause I don't have prostate cancer I shouldn't post there, So where's the rule for that? None. I know that if I did put up links they would cream me so.. I'm done with it.
Cranky they are. and illogical. Maybe thats what happens when you wear diapers all day.
Cast not your pearls before swine... isn't that the old saying?

Arrowwind,
He's right HIFU doesn't replace chemo......your first post should have said "surgery" not "chemo".
You're a gem for trying.
Kevin, I know a lady in England whose husband had HIFU 8 years ago, he is fine, and he has 6 buddies who also had HIFU, they are all fine--no side effects, no recurrance. I also know a doctor in Austria who told me it works great, he is a general practicioner, but he knows men who have had it done....18 years they have been doing HIFU in Europe.

Kevin, look into Dr. Scionti, he has treated over 500.....in 5 years....it takes a while to get the word out. He is doing 50 a month now.
HIFUCareCenter.com
Europe has treated well over 20,000 men. Japan boasts a 100% cure rate on one clinical study.
Dr. Scionti works at:
Clinical Associate Professor of Urology, NYU School of Medicine
Director of Prostate Cancer Ablative Surgery, NYU Langone Medical Center

The progressive Swiss are at it with HIFU ~~
Not many patients can imagine having a glass of champagne with their surgeons straight after brain surgery but that is exactly what is happening at a Zurich hospital.
Swiss doctors have successfully carried out the world's first non-invasive brain surgery with use of high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU).
Ten adult patients, who were awake during the revolutionary painless procedure, have been treated at University Children's Hospital Zurich since September 2008 as part of a clinical study. The results were published this week.
All interventions were completed successfully and without complications under the direction of professors Daniel Jeanmonod and Ernst Martin.
"This fully non-invasive procedure opens new horizons for neurosurgery and the treatment of different neurological brain disorders," Ernst Martin, director of the hospital's Magnetic Resonance Centre told swissinfo.ch.
The list of diseases and conditions which could be treated with this safe and effective technique includes Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, epilepsy, brain tumour and stroke.
Martin and Jeanmonod have been working on patients with neuropathic pain due to functional brain disorders. Specifically, they are people who experienced pain in amputated or paralysed parts of the body.
"The origin of the pain does not exist anymore but the brain projects the pain so that is why we operate on the brain," Martin explained. The patients have all remained pain-free since their operations.
HIFU has been used for some years in the treatment of uterine fibroids and tumours of the prostate gland. The ultrasound beams heat up the problem area, creating a lesion and rendering it inactive.

I've been erased and banned from another forum, this is a ladies only forum. I simply told my story and was as sweet as pie. I can't even get in to look.
This is very discouraging, HIFU will never be approved with people like this in the world. Makes me more determined to tell the country....I'd say the world, but everyone in the world knows, except us. What kind of a country do we live in anyway?
