So... this morning I woke up.. got out of bed.. noticed some pain in my testicle.. tried not think of it, but it wouldn't go away.. thought.. must just be a fluke, ill try and sleep it off.. but it kept hurting.. tried to examine it but it was painful to the touch.. now I started worrying a bit... as I know a lot about these things, I feared it could be Testicular Torsion, where the testicle veins twist on each other and cut off the blood supply to the testicle. Its very serious and you can lose your nut within a couple hours if they don't do emergency surgery to untwist it.. So now im starting to freak out.. I call my Uro's office, its saturday so he's out.. end up calling another Uro who pages my guy.. he calls me and I tell him whats going on.. he tells me he's going to get in-touch with the emergency dept. and get back to me.... calls me back 15 minutes later and tells me to go to the emergency room, he's alerted the urologist I will be arriving..
Get there.. the people are pretty incompetent and it takes a while to get in, find the doctor, do some paperwork etc.. at this point im thinking im gonna lose my testicle and have to undergo emergency surgery on my nuts.. (eek)
First guy comes in and feels my testicles.. very painful to the touch on the left side.. then the urologist comes in and feels my testicles, once again very painful on the left side.. he mentions the possibility of torsion or epididymitis.. says he's requested an ultrasound tech who will be arriving in half an hour.. if the ultrasound shows low/no blood flow or is inconclusive I will be doing emergency surgery.. if blood flow is good, then its likely epididymitis..
then this asian nurse chick comes in and makes me drop my pants.. then she gels up the boys and starts doing the ultrasound.. which again is quite painful.. I keep asking her if it looks normal/ok and she wont tell me.. I need to talk to the doctor...
20 minutes later another nurse comes in with a huge needle/syringe.. and says "ok im gonna give you a shot" im like.. umm wtf, what shot?? "antibiotics" .. umm no thanks, I need to talk to the doctor first etc.
Then I wait another half hour.. finally the doc comes in and tells me "Good News! You have great blood flow to both testicles!" Yaaay.. im very relieved they wont be cutting me open and putting me under anesthesia.. He tell's me I have epididymitis.. inflammation of the epididymis. I told him that im against antibiotics unless its very serious and that I don't think I have an infection.. that I will try taking herbal anti-inflammatories etc.. and see how it goes. He agree's that it's an OK route to go and I get released from the hospital..
So yea.. was a crazy morning.. I woke up just like a normal day, little did I know i'd be in the ER having numerous people feeling me up..
I really dont like ER's or hospitals for that matter.. its like a breeding ground for disease.. there was some blood splattered on the wall in my room.. sick people, all kinds of messed up stuff going on..
So i've had prostatitis.. and now epididymitis.. seems to be that I tend to suffer form inflammatory issues in my urinary system.. I wonder why.. maybe some kind of dysbiosis.. or anatomical abnormality.. or.. Im not sure..
The thing is, I haven't really been having any prostate issues recently.. and I have no pain / itching / burning when I urinate.. no discharge.. no fever/chills.. I do have digestive problems.
Also, I masturbated three days in a row.. which isn't excessive but a little more then usual for me these days.. but, the second day, I had to pee while masturbating, so I stopped and pee'd then went back to it ha.. then last night I had to pee but I just kept going anyway.. and noticed my ejaculate was a bit more watery then normal.. I read that sometimes epidydmitis can be caused by urine refluxing back into the vas deferens from having sex on a full bladder or exercising with a full bladder.. Maybe masturbating with a full bladder did the same thing.. its hard to say.
So I guess im gonna just take it easy for a couple days.. obviously no ejaculating or anything like that.. maybe try some ice packs on there.. maybe take some Zyflamend or another anti-inflammatory herb.
Epididymitis is normally from an STD or bacterial infection. Anti-inflammatories may help the symptoms, but antibacterials should fix it. If you also think you have dysbiosis, you should go after the bacteria.
You could treat it like Candida, even though Candida is a fungus/yeast. Here is something to consider. Candida is killed by metallothionein (MT) proteins which are normally in high concentration in intestinal mucosa. MT is induced by zinc. Many persons with candida are low zinc and low MT persons. They usually exhibit low zinc in plasma, serum, or packed cells, but high zinc in hair. You can expect chronic candida problems until zinc is normalized. Just make sure that you don't take more than 50mg of zinc per day, including supplement and diet.
I use Nutrasilver.com for all my infections. I recently had a pretty severe cold like symptoms. Probably due to handling so much money at a wildlife refuge festival where I am the treasurer. There was no time to wash my hands frequently and nowhere to do that either. In 2 days, I was miserable. I did not want to get stuck on Afrin once again, so I thought I would suffer through it and take colloidal silver. I put 20 drops in a 1/4 cup of distilled water, and drank that every 3 hours. Today, the 3rd day in, I only have some residual inflamed sinuses. Very tolerable.
Other weapons in the bacterial warfare are garlic, olive leaf extract, oil of oregano, grapefruit seed extract, undecylenic acid, and coconut oil. But the fastest is the colloidal silver.
Another, but slower method, to increase concentrations of lactic acid-producing bacteria like Bifidobacteria, Lactobacillus and beneficial lactic acid streptococcus in the colon. It is the acid that will kill the bacteria and fungi.
To shock it out of your system, a high alkaline like MMS or baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) may also help. Problem is that these things need to get to the source. Going through the digestive system kind of slows that process, as your immune system will fight to bring your pH back in balance. Also, MMS can take a while depending upon your current health. It does not last long, in the body, and will even be shortened by the numerous pathogens in route to your real and current problem. You can overwhelm that process by taking more at more frequent dosage intervals. I personally find that dangerous. MMS is a better choice, but will take some time. MMS will destroy any bacteria that is anaerobic and an electron donor, so that will be an experiment that you can try.
My chief choice is still colloidal silver and a high probiotic product like VSL#3, which has an extremely high bacterial count of the kind that you need.

Moxsum, I knew this was you before even opening up the thread. You need to eat some american junk food and quit worrying. And I mean northeastern, chicago or southeastern/texas junk food. None of this california sante fe chicken pizza.
Funny thing is.. after leaving the hostpital, I just relaxed, kept a positive attitude and got a lot of really good sleep last night.. this morning I wake up and its like 90% better.. notihng at all like yesterday.. ha!
And to think they were going to stick a big syringe full of antibiotics into my blood stream.. NO THANKS
Also.. im aware of a lot of the natural anti-bacterials.. but.. im really trying to boost my beneficial bacteria at the moment and im wary of taking tons of strong natural antibiotics too.. I really believe once my digestive system is 100% all these other issues will disappear. I think it explains my tension/pelvic floor problems too.. Ive had a lot of tension/hyperactivity in my pelvic floor and abdomen areas .. im thinking its because of inflammation in my intestines, which surround the pelvic/abdomen, and thus the muscles of the pelvis/abdomen go into "guarding" mode and get tense to protect the vulnerable part of the body. So once i soothe/heal the intestines = muscle problems should go away.
interesting... hey moxsum have you ever gone for a colonic? i have had 4 in 3 months and they have given me a lot of relief. after my first one i thought i was home free. the colon is in contact with the prostate.
Hey.. no.. not a full on colonic.. But just yesterday and today ive done my first Enema's (yay for me).. Im seeing an Ayurvedic physician.. and doing a 3 day cleanse (panchakarma).. every morning I give myself an oil enema and hold it in as long as I can.. then I get various treatments like oil massage, sinus cleansing, kati basti - where they make like a mote of clay on your spine and fill it with warm herbal oils and let them soak in for like 45 minutes.. and sirodhara where they drip herbal oil on your forehead for like 30 minutes..
Im a little weary about doing one of those full on colonics with water, where they irrigate your whole large intestine.. although my dads been doing them a bit lately and loves it.
I really think theres a huge connection between pelvic floor/prostate/urethra and the digestive system.. if the digestive system is out of wack/inflamed from stress/antibiotics/pharmaceutical drugs/chlorinated tap water/hormonal imbalance then the pelvic organs/tissues/muscles will be too.. they sit on top of eachother.. and there is bacterial flora in our urogenital tracts too.. they also get effected by the same things that mess up the digestive bacteria..
Antibiotics kill the beneficial bacteria in the gut, but also in the urogenital tract, sinuses, skin.. which leaves the body vulnerable to pathogenic bacteria... so from overuse of antibiotics you could have urinary problems, sinus problems, digestive problems, skin problems, emotional problems, etc.. it goes on and on..
Then what happens? You get a urinary tract infection because you didnt have enough good bacteria to fight off the bad ones.. you go to your doctor and he gives you more antibiotics! Its a nice little circle you see
Doctors these days want to give antibiotics for everything.. its like they seem to have forgotten that our bodies are actually capable of fighting off infections.. Just because you have an infection doesnt mean you need antibiotics.. why not just boost your defenses/treat imbalances/improve health then your body will take care of it on its own.
Can I ask, who here who has/had prostate/testicular/urinary issues also has some digestive issues (any of: bloating, gas, foul stool, reflux, odd poo's)?
High frequency of chronic bacterial and non-inflammatory prostatitis in infertile patients with prostatitis syndrome plus irritable bowel syndrome.

Abstract
BACKGROUND:
Although prostatitis syndrome (PS) and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) are common disorders, information on the prevalence of IBS in infertile patients with PS is relatively scanty. Therefore, this study was undertaken to estimate the frequency of PS and IBS and to evaluate the prevalence of the various diagnostic categories of prostatitis.
METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS:
This study enrolled 152 patients with PS, diagnosed by the NIH-Chronic Prostatitis Symptom Index (NIH-CPSI) in an andrological setting, and 204 patients with IBS, diagnosed according to the Rome III diagnostic criteria in a gastroenterological setting. The patients with PS were asked to fulfill the Rome III questionnaire for IBS, whereas patients with IBS were asked to complete the NIH-CPSI. The simultaneous presence of PS and IBS was observed in 30.2% and 31.8% of the patients screened by andrologists and gastroenterologists, respectively. Altogether, 111 patients had PS plus IBS (31.2%). They had a total NIH-CPSI and pain subscale scores significantly higher than patients with PS alone. Gastrointestinal symptoms in patients with PS plus IBS were similar to those reported by patients with IBS alone and significantly greater in patients with PS alone. Patients with PS plus IBS had a significantly higher frequency of chronic bacterial prostatitis (category II) and lower of non-inflammatory prostatitis (category IIIB), compared to patients with PS alone. The frequency of inflammatory prostatitis (category IIIA) resulted similar.
CONCLUSIONS/SIGNIFICANCE:
Prostatitis syndromes and IBS are frequently associated in patients with PS- or IBS-related symptoms. These patients have an increased prevalence of chronic bacterial and non-inflammatory prostatitis.
The most obvious times that I found the bowel was connected to prostatitis symptoms is when I had a stomach infection (virus). Once an infection is etablished in the body in a biofilm as are 80% of chronic infections, taking probiotics is not going to remove it.

There's a study I posted in the other thread called "my prostatitis story" where it showed that giving antibiotics to men with chronic bacterial prostatitis would lead to a cure or improvement in symptoms, but then a few (not all!) relapsed with a growth of new pathogenic bacteria, however, these resolved on their own withina few months.
Ignore the other comments about junk food, that isn't going to help anyone.
Lastly... my prostatitis started with symptoms of only epididymitis. I ignored it (actually the inflammation resolved after 6 months but frequent urination continued), my doctor never treated it properly either, then there was the hell of prostatitis a few years later. The effect of antibiotics like trimethoprim don't have a massive impact on the long term health of the gut, apparently, normal flora levels come back within weeks and there is only little overgrowth of candida which would resolve on its own after stopping the antibiotics. Have you taken this antibiotic??? You should probably try. Well, whatever you decide, good luck
affirmative. i have had what i called IBS for a long time and very wet loose stools. i am now loading up on the very best probiotics, food enzymes, greek yogurt and raw veggies.
my homeopath-colonic practitioner always was in shock and commented that i was in real bad shape in comparision to her other clients. AND she deals with people that has colon issues! things she commented on were undigested food, lots of bad baceria, toxic matter and sludge.
i know gross. but i can say first hand that re irrigating the colon has helped me very much. the lengthy courses of 8 weeks cipro and 4 weeks sulfa-trim may be why the results were so bad but i feel that my intestines were and have been a mess for a very long time before any prostate issue.
as both you guys said before the prostate takes sometime to heal and i assume the colon is slow too?
so anyway i am a yes to gut issues. anymore posters??
I never did have an issue related with bowel health and antibiotics, at times earlier on when taking antibiotics it actually improved. Though I have been eating healthy since 2003 on a mostly raw food diet. Green smoothies are great by the way. You should try them as they really do improve your digestion. Also I've always taken these along with my antibiotics; probiotics, lactoferrin, garlic, green tea and other things that help reduce the or eliminate bad bacteria and yeast. At one time I was on low dose 100mg per day trimethoprim for 6 months and it had no effect on stools. The fact is though, without abx over the years I would have lost my job 10 times at least because each period would have taken weeks or months to resolve. Whereas if I took antiotics at the start of a flare I'd be back in work within days.
I definitely have and had digestion issues leading up to this. I do think its related, I still have issues, eating most food makes me feel uncomfortable, and pooping seems to bring a lot of relief.
One thing I came across on my journey was a video on youtube about GMO food. There was a scienitist of some sort explaining how the corn's dna was altered by adding a gene that would produce a herbacide. In order to active the gene so that it was "on" they also have to add an activeator to the DNA. He stated that they had found that the bacteria in peoples gut flora could pick up the extra gene as well as the activator. You could then have your natural gut flora sitting there producing this herbacide in your body. He also said the activator could also turn on other laten genes in the DNA. Might have somthing to do with why so many of us are having gut problems.

Anyone else had this? Any advice?
The prostatitis can flow backwards into the testicle inflaming the epididymis causing epididymitis. Have you been to a urologist ? You need to get a prostate massage done to check for bacteria if bacteria is found ..yep you will have to take antibiotics to get all better which u seem to be very much against.....Have you had bad experiences with antibiotics in the past ?
have you tried taking Ibuprofen for the testicle pain. I suffer currently from chronic prostatitis and one urologist in the beginning told me I have epididymitis as well if i take plenty Ibuprofen a day it can settle down the testicle pain long as i dont stop taking it
I'm going the apparent herbal natural route now. which is something I always thought sounded kookie to me. some relatives supposedly ordered me something for this from some healing store guru and I ordered some allicin today..if this stuff actually works I will have changed my mind on this subject if not I'm gonna feel like a horses a$$
