Hi
Oh , first of all- I just replied to a post saying I couldn't find how to aska question- but I think I've figured it out-lol.
Does anyone else have problems with a almost constant tiredness, no energy/
I've tried vitamins, etc, I've been on anti- depressants, which I've stopped a month or so ago- hoping that if I went off them , I mightn't be so tired( side-effects say drowsiness can be a side- effect)- but it doesn't matter what I do- I'm sooooo tired.
I've had blood tests done at doctor's- just comes up "normal"- I was sure I had something wrong with thyroid or something, but apparently not- though I have heard that even if it says normal- it doesn't always mean that- but I just don't know what to do anymore!
I'm a female- late forties, just went to Health food Store AGAIn yesterday, bought "Stress and Anxiety" pills- has "sacred basil, Indian Ginseng, magnolia officinalus, poria cocos and other stuff- ( sorry , hard to read small writing). Has anyone tried any of these things( main ingredient is the "sacred basil".
I'm starting to feel depressed again- not sure whether to try St Johns wort as well?
Anyway- just wondered , thanks to anyone that might reply?

If you don't have a situation in your life to cause unusual stress or fatigue you should not think that its in your mind, you should think its in your body.
This is what I would to. Learn about and start supplementing with Lugol's iodine. Supplement with D3. Get a mega B vitamin and take daily. Do a three week cleanse with MMS1. Eliminate junk food and anything with chemicals in it. Do a natural diet. Consider a mostly raw food diet for a while. Lots of salads. After 4 weeks of supplementing re-evaluate your situation. This protocol will make your body detox.
You likely will start to feel better. If you do then you know you are on the right track. If not then we will look further.
Just do a forum search and you will find out about all these things I have mentioned. Read up on them then ask questions.

Arrow's suggestions are good ones, Lpar. Also, I suggest you try to get your
supplements in either a gel cap or a capsule form. No hard tablets as they
are harder for your system to digest.
You might try looking on www.Iherb.com as they sell D3 gel caps in 5000iu
and magnesium capsules in 400 to 500 mg. strengths. Also, probably a good
variety of Mega B's. Iherb usually gives a free or a break on shipping for a
specified amount. Plus, no tax.
Also, as Arrow said, changes in your diet might be necessary.
Good luck!

Omega 3 fish oils are also known to help those who are feeling depressed, I believe 3 grams per day is the therapeutic dose.
Royal Jelly (Montana brand is good) in the jar will give you energy without feeling 'wired'. It's a bee product, so you can't be allergic to bees or bee stings.
I'm with jw8725! The benefits of getting out in the fresh air and getting some exercise in, make a person feel soooo much better physically AND mentally! Just a relaxing walk in the park or on the beach does a world of good.

I have/had a similar issue-- extreme fatigue (and accompanying depression). I tried a lot of things as well, anti-depressants, vitamins, etc.
Have you ever tried cutting anything out of your diet? Once I cut lactose out (i am intolerant) I had some improvement, but even more so when I started cutting out starches and basically all sugar except a bit of fruit. I think my main problem is poor diet, but I'm also exploring intestinal candida overgrowth and cleansing with that in mind. Perhaps try switching lots of green veggies, lean proteins, and drinking plenty of water-- see how that makes you feel after a few days?
I also agree with kind2creature's comment about omegas... I have not tried them myself (even though I know I need to), but have read a LOT of literature about their benefits and the brain fog that many experience when lacking them. I suppose that's why fish, loaded with omega 3s, has always been referred to as "brain food".

Welcome to the forum lifesmash! I remember when I was a small child, my dad saying to me 'eat your fish, fish is brain food!'...aah...fond and healthy memories.
Since I had problems swallowing the larger soft-gels, I'm presently using Now brand omega-3 fish oil in the liquid form. It's lemon flavored, and easy to take. I recommend some type of omega-3 for everyone...so many benefits!
I was just looking at the lemon-flavoured liquid the other day... but could not afford to buy it at the time. Soon, though! It seemed to have the most packed into it.
I have adrenal fatigue, exaccerbated by candida, but I have found many things that have helped. Cutting out the white sugar & flours & carbs is important, as carbs cause a sugar high and then crash, which depletes the adrenals. Coffee is bad for the adrenals as it causes them to over-work then crash, further depleting them. Our lifestyles in the US also contribute. Eating high protein foods like quinoa & fish give me energy without making me tired. I crave sugar and breads a lot but when I don't eat them, I have a study blood sugar which helps my energy.
I tried iodine for a while but it didnt seem to do much. I also took adrenal supplements but didn't notice too much of a difference. Then I read Adrenal Fatigue by James Wilson and it explained how many people with adrenal fatigue also have hypoglycemia and other cause-and-effect symptoms.
My mind used to be foggy and only feel clear late at night. I started taking MMS daily about 4 months ago and I feel like a different person. My wit is back!
I also have been exercising hard at the gym and that has given me physical strength & endurance which I notice throughout the day.
So, diet in combo with exercise and some supplements, and good rest, makes for a balanced, energetic life. Hope some of that helps.
Whatever the reasons for adrenal fatigue, they surely must be addressed. In the meantime, you can supplement with vitamin C and a vitamin B complex. Vitamin C is the most important nutrient for the adrenal glands. The second most important is pantothenic acid (vitamin B5). It is never a good idea to take any single B vitamin, including B12. It is important to take the whole complex. Also research the adaptogen herbs.
Thank you Jim! I appreciate it. I will take more V-C and check out those herbs. (I think I was a little sleepy when I wrote this last night, I left out some things, but its my lifestyle/diet that was depleting my adrenals; waaaay to much stress!)
