This tells how daily consumption of cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil can help reduce the risk of stroke in the elderly.
Quote:
Critical research released in the industry publication journal Neurology from the American Academy of Neurology provides evidence that regular consumption of olive oil can help lower the risk of stroke. The study examined individuals over the age of 65 that are most vulnerable to the devastating effects of a stroke. Scientists suggest that olive oil taken as part of a healthy diet can lower the life-altering risks associated with a stroke by 41% in the elderly.
How timely. I was just reading, in my monthly HSI newsletter, about a product, called NEO40, that contains beet root powder and hawthorn. It promotes nitric oxide in the body. This is well known to prevent and even reverse stroke and heart attacks. So does exercise. It too promotes nitric oxide.
Anyway, we have talked about beet root powder on this forum in the past. It seems magical.
I looked online for the product and found it at People's Pharmacy. I can't order anything in the mail, because our temperature is in the 3 digits for a month and will probably continue through the summer. Perishables perish in the postal carrier's car or UPS. So local is important.
So along with olive oil, which does not surprise me, this beet root and hawthorn product should do the trick.
Then, don't forget magnesium. I know that we over hype magnesium here, but it is well worth it. It provides serious protection against heart attack and stroke. B12 is important too. You can't make red blood cells without it, and deficiency will cause anemia. So take that vegetarians.

Friend of mine works with some guy from India and the Indian guy's dad came in for a visit a few yrs ago. Guy was 90 and looked 60 and moved around like a young man. When my buddy inquired about his health, he said root soup (with beets)
Interesting, has anyone on here heard of olive leaf extract it is also very good for the heart, and most other ailments, hubby and I make our own, we have a lot of olive trees growing wild where we live, and so it is a lot cheaper to make it ourselves than buy it already made, we got the recipe of the net.
