Hello!
The book, "The Diabetes Solution" by Richard Bernstein M.D. clarifies that the hormone insulin, which is required for the body's use of glucose (which is broken down carbohydrate primarily), also signals the body to store fat. The hormone insulin, whether produced by the body or injected as in diabetes, also signals the hunger response. After having Type 1 diabetes for 48 years, I feel like I finally understand and can do something effective about my condition! I've lost over 20 lbs. in 5 months and my blood sugars are definitely improving. Cheers, BB |
