Default Do you get allergies eating same foods all the time?

So ive heard from multiple reliable sources that you dont want to be eating the same things everyday for extended periods of time because it can predispose the body to developing an allergy to that food.. Best to space it out and eat a variety..

Is this true? Makes it difficult because there are some healthy foods I love and would eat all day if I could.. like avocadoes.. chicken.. etc..

Also I try to have a regular morning routine.. but I make a shake with some Vega powder, but should I be worried about having the same thing everyday? I try to vary it .. some morning I make oatmeal.. other mornings I make a shake w coconut milk/banana/powders..

Is the phrase anal retentive hyphenated? Moxsum, you worry too much; but in this case you are correct, especially with high protein foods such as dairy products and some meat products.

Haha I know I do.. im working on it.. ! In general I try to rotate my foods.. I always try not to eat the same thing twice in one day at least.. however my ayurvedic doctor has had me drinking warm milk every night for months.. I love it.. but hopefully that doesnt cause an allergy at some point. Rotating meat is difficult but I do my best.. I only eat chicken, turkey, beef, bison, salmon, halibut, tuna for the most part.. and eggs of course..

Does everyone else here try to rotate? I mean.. I think sometimes it can take a while to cause an allergy.. but it does happen.. but there are people who've eaten tomatoes/ketchup almost daily for like 30 years and then only develop an allergy it seems..

And then from my understanding, if you develop one.. the way to deal with it is just to stop eating it completely for 3-6 months, then slowly re-introduce it and then normally your body accepts it again right?

The reason that you should rotate is so that you don't miss any nutrients. When you only eat certain foods, you will definitely miss nutrients. I have Japanese and Vietnamese friends that eat rice everyday, and are happy if that is all they eat. And it is white rice. I would have no problem eating hamburgers and pizzas daily. I think we have discussed this before.

Would you get allergies from the same whole food vitamin daily? I seriously think not.

It is nutrition, not allergies that you should worry about. If you eat mostly meats or high proteins, you might have a problem with inflammation, because you would be increasing arachidonic acid. If you are a frutarian, you would be increasing fructose, and causing other problems. If you are a vegetarian, you will be missing vitamin B12. Your friendly bacteria would produce some B12, but not substantially enough.

If your adrenals are working properly, they would easily manage such allergies, but that too would depend upon nutrition.

Good post! Makes a lot of sense.. definitely important to vary the diet.. its hard to sometimes though, its so easy to find a few things you really like and keep going back to them.. especially for breakfast.. when I dont have the motivation to make some new exciting dish each day, I fall back on shakes/oatmeal/eggs for the most part.
