Default Top 7 Supermarket Foods to Avoid

https://naturalsociety.com/top-7-supe...oods-to-avoid/

Quote:

In a recent article, seven experts in the fields of both food and the environment (scientists, doctors and farmers) were asked just one simple question: What foods do you avoid? Their responses had nothing to do with calories or nutrient-density, but all to do with their insider knowledge on how certain seemingly healthy foods that they closely work with are produced and packaged. The findings are scary.

The cancer causing farm salmon highlights the complete ignorance of man tinkering and trying to improve on nature.

No BPA Free canned tomatoes are available in the US at the moment although Muir Glen are going to start using a BPA FEE lining for their organic tomatoes after the next tomato harvest.

In Canada only Thomas Utopia brand appear to use BPA Free cans at the moment.

I didn't think so, I looked. Eden is BPA-free but they don't make canned tomatoes. I buy Muir Glen so this is really good news. But then, let's not forget it's not just BPA but the other things in plastic as well. I really need to just make my own sauce but I already expend a lot of energy cooking healthily.

Yes, but beware, if you pop pocorn in a pan with just butter, you will soon have the firies at your door, butter has a very low smoking point!! Use vegetable oil...

The potatoes surprised me... drat! let's hope I can get lots of tomatoes from my farmer's mkt this summer.
Time to begin making room in my freezer to freeze some for next winter.
That article said that tomato sauces sold in glass jars are good to use. That leaves the Hunt brand out of
the picture as theirs are all in cans - I think. It seems I haven't bought fish in like forever & at times do miss it.

The taste of farmed fish just doesn't taste even half as good to me. At a local store if if we ever buy the farmed fish I can instantly tell how much worse the quality is compared to wild.

Sad about the popcorn, because ever few months I pop one in the microwave
