A strucutral alleviation for a biological disease will have limited results.
MS is caused by a microbe, as are calcifications and narrowing of vessels. The microbes cause inflammation and build up of plaque as well as destruction of the mylin sheath. Rife technology has a whole host of frequencies for the treatment of vessels and some people who treat their MS with Rife get positive results. MS has also been cured by colloidal silver given by IV and alleviated by oral dosages. This article is a report about how the conventional medical world continues to dance around the issus, bickers amongst themselves and refuses to acknowledge the world of microbes that their limited vision refuses to see.

MS is also known to travel in families, which indicates either a genetic predisposition to these microbes or a contageous factor from close association. My friend and her father both have MS. They swear by the use of the herbal remedy called Padme Basic. They used the padme basic from Source Naturals. When I did a search on the properties of the herbs in the product some years ago I found that there were antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties which of course is why it is known to be great for the vascular system. Note that they are comparing the ingredients to reversatrol and tea compounds. So I would say that my friends get improvement in their MS symptoms due primarily to the antiviral effects, which of course would be from its immunological proterties, keeping the disease at a low level. They have used this product for many years religiously and have had no serious complications from the MS. If they stop the product in a week or two they start getting into trouble.
Anti-Oxidant Benefits of EcoNugenics Padma Basic

29 Oct 2004

The release of a new study examining the role of Tibetan herbal formula PADMA in immune-related functions reports supportive results for EcoNugenics PADMA BASIC. PADMA was found to effectively suppress the human bodys fluctuating levels of neopterin, an immune system marker, and tryptophan, a mood regulator.

Austrian researchers have found that the anti-oxidative properties of PADMA are closely linked to the modulation of immunobiological events. These results are on par with similar studies on the anti-oxidant properties of resveratrol, red wine, and green and black tea.

Elevated levels of neopterin, a substance that is present in the body fluids, indicate that the immune system has been activated. High neopterin levels signal the presence of malignant disease, viral infections and rejection from grafts. Tryptophan is an essential amino acid in human nutrition, and plays the important role as the precursor of melatonin and seratonin, known for their important roles in mood regulation, as well as numerous health conditions.

The effects of the PADMA formula were observed in stimulated and unstimulated human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC), a type of human blood cells, in vitro. PBMC rates of neopterin production and tryptophan degradation were measured and were ultimately inhibited by the PADMA formula. The study concludes that the PADMA formula is able to suppress immunobiological events in mitogen-treated PBMC.

The authors point out that the clinical relevance of the study was of particular importance for people with conditions in which macrophage activation by interferon, an antiviral protein produced in cells which have been invaded by a virus, is involved.** PADMA's ability to interfere with oxidative stress is important for these conditions, as well as its effects on neopterin and tryptophan levels, particularly for patients with malignancy, infections or autoimmune diseases.

Elevated neopterin levels may indicate the presence of malignant disease or viral infections, and low tryptophan levels show a reduction in essential amino acids, states Isaac Eliaz, M.D., L.Ac., chairman of EcoNugenics and medical director of Amitabha Medical Clinic and Healing Center. The ability of PADMA to keep these immunobiological levels in check is an important finding in relation to the benefits that are found in the U.S. PADMA formula.

PADMA is a multi-compound Tibetan herbal formula that consists of 22 compounds: 20 herbal ingredients, camphor and calcium sulphate. Additional studies have suggested that the PADMA formula may be effective in supporting the immune system, promoting healthy circulation and improving cardiovascular and vein health. PADMA is sold as a drug and as a nutritional supplement in Europe. The same PADMA is sold in North America, distributed by EcoNugenics, as PADMA BASIC.

EcoNugenics was founded in 1995 with a commitment to offering premium dietary supplements and nutraceuticals based on the best of modern science integrated with the ancient wisdom of traditional and complementary therapies. They are committed to five basic principles, which include innovation in product formulation, thorough scientific research, ongoing clinical validation, customer education and empowerment and superior quality control.

Speaking of anti-inflammatory and antiviral activity .... Anyone with MS should have their Vitamin D levels checked, IMO. Inadequate D and/or exposure to sunlight is now believed to play a role in the development and progression of MS.

Padma has been used in Europe and the Far East for over 40 years and was mainly used for relieving blocked arteries in the leg muscles, a condition called intermittent claudication, where sufferers can only walk a very small distance before having excruciating pain.

I remember once recommending someone to take Padma for blocked leg arteries due to smoking but he didnt have the time for the treatment and had to have his leg amputated.

In the town of Dornbirn, Austria, retired physician Dr. Franz Schelling is watching the explosion of interest in Chronic Cerebrospinal Venous Insufficiency (CCSVI) and the Liberation Treatment, convinced this long-dismissed idea will finally get its day in scientific court.

For MS, there has been success with individuals avoiding dairy and too many meats. I also agree with the above poster about Vit D levels.
