Hi, 4Peanuts, I feel your pain, having had Candida. Here is what I learned from being treated and cured:
You can't take one thing to cure Candida. I'm surprised your nutritionist told you that would work. Lauricidin is a good product but you have to take about 4 different things and rotate them about every 4 or 5 days because Candida (a yeast that morphs into a fungus) will become immune to one product taken repeatedly and that product will no longer work.
Maybe you noticed a little improvement with the Candex at first but not after a while?
The fungus also digs itself into your intestinal walls and branches out (gross, isn't it?) and after you've had it awhile you will have layers built up. So you have to take things that scrape the layers off, such as Diatomaceous Earth and others, otherwise even if you rotate the 4 candida killers you won't get to all the layers below. But you can't just take DE only, either.
You also have to follow the Candida diet carefully so you don't feed it, otherwise it will grow faster than you can kill it. This means no cheating and this is harder than the other things you have to do, especially because Candida makes you crave sugar and flour.
It's absolutely essential to have a strict protocol and follow it, it's the only way to get rid of Candida, though I know it involves commitment and effort which you don't always feel like doing when you're sick. But if you do, it will only take a few months and then it will be gone forever.
I can give you the protocol I followed that cured me from Candida but it's best if you get in touch with a candida expert (of which there are few unfortunately) so that you can get a protocol especially for you and be tested to see your progress. Dr. Biamonte is an expert, here's his website:
www.health-truth.com (I'm not advertising for him, in case it looks that way, just referring you to someone that can help. He cured me in 2000.)
