I found the Rhodiola to be too stimulating and causing panic attacks, so I stopped it but I added in L-Tyrosine and GABA. I also take a multivitamin, high EPA fish oil, vitamin c, b-50, calcium/magnesium/zinc and vitamain D3. It\'s been just about a week since I started on everything, and sometimes I do feel good again, and other times I am still struggling with my mood. Last night, for example, I felt pretty crappy before bed and about an hour after taking my supplements was calmed down enough to go to sleep.. \r\n <!-' + '- / message -' + '->\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n <!-' + '- message, attachments, sig -' + '->\r\n\r\n \n \nI\'ve been increasing dosages for the aminos. Today I reached the highest recommended for 5-HTP and tomorrow I am taking my L-Tyrosine up to the highest for that. I have had depression for YEARS, and 10 years ago was a drug addict, I\'ve been sober for 6 years but my depression has been untreated because psych meds mess me up. \n \nThis is what my day looks like: \n \nEarly morning: L-Tyrosine 3x 500 mg \nAfter breakfast: multivit, vitamin d, vitamin c, b-complex, fish oil \nmid-morning: L-Tyrosine 3x 500 mg \nmid-afternoon : L-tyrosine 2x 500 mg, 5-htp 3x 50 mg, GABA if needed(500 mg) \nafter dinner: GABA 500 mg \nbefore bed: GABA 500 mg, 5-HTP 3x 50 mg, calcium/magnesium/zinc, taurine 500 mg \n \nWaiting on my DLPA to come in the mail to add in to the mix in the morning.. \n \nHow long should it take before I know for sure it\'s helping? I do feel a lot better a lot of the time. One of the first few days, I woke up depressed and within an hour of taking the tyrosine I felt fine. \n \nPerhaps I should be journalling to see how I am doing.. I know these things are all supposed to be short term.. I also have some St John\'s Wort on hand in case the 5-HTP doesn\'t help.. Nights are the worst for me. Tonight I feel completely fine though. \n \nI\'ll be starting a DBT program for borderline personality within a couple months..\r\n | \r\n

Krill oil alone resolved it. \r\n \r\nThere are multiple possible reasons for depression, and my cure may not be yours but it sure is worth a try. \r\n \r\nGood luck. \r\n \r\nDan\r\n | \r\n

I can\'t not comment on the supplements you are taking since I have never used them. \r\n \r\n \r\nBut, what I can comment on is your diet. \r\n \r\n \r\nDiet is extremely crucial not only to your health, but also to your mood. \r\n \r\n \r\nI figured this out firsthand when I transfered over to a "raw food" diet.* \r\n \r\n \r\nWhen you get away from junk/processed foods and meat. Your body runs more efficiently. \r\n \r\n \r\nYou have more energy and you feel better overall. \r\n \r\n \r\nNow, I know the thought of giving up all the foods you love sounds terrifying.* \r\n \r\n \r\nSo, what I would say is give it your best shot at giving up all the junk/processed foods for 30 days and replace them with fruits, veggies, b-12 supplement (I like Jarrows chewables), and a good food based multi-vitamin. \r\n \r\n \r\nIf at any time you feel like you need junk food or a piece of meat, just limit the portion if you can.* \r\n \r\n \r\nDo not quit everything cold turky and do not feel bad if you can\'t fight the urge of wanting some junk food or meat. \r\n \r\n \r\nIt took me years to fight those urges and I felt like a yo-yo, but the improvement in my mood and health was worth fighting for.* \r\n \r\n \r\nBy eating more raw (uncooked ) fruits and veggies you should notice a big improvement in your mood in only a few days. \r\n \r\n \r\nIf you got any questions just ask.* \r\n \r\n \r\nPat\r\n | \r\n
