I\'m fine with that but everything he said was an attempt to discredit alterntive medicine, all comments designed to make one feel foolish for even considering the alternative they were discussing. \n \nI guess I woke up not in the mood for this type of BS. \n \nbill5 came here and started trying to blatlantly discredit everything he got near. He did not provide any reference and then to boot he recommended the American Cancer Society!... and in the same breath ranted that no alternative therapies were proven to work. \n \nI advised him that this forum is not exactly geared to respecting the American Cancer Society. \n \nThen he went on to name call several alternative practitioners, some that are highly respected here. What\'s that old saying, an enemy of my friend is an enemy of mine...or something like that... many people have been greatly helped by these alternative practitioners RIGHT HERE ON THIS FORUM! \n \nHis comments were aggressive and offensive to likely many. ... so dam it! I slammed him. \n \nAll those who post here regularly know that I am pretty tolerant. But for a new comer here to take this approach really got my goat. \n \nand I will say what I will say! \n \nI have broken my back here trying to provide reference to people time and time again. We all know that there is a severe lack of reference that is approved by the AMA or TPTB on alternative medicine... and we also know why politically. We all know that the testimonial is what we have. Double blind studies cost millions and only pharmaceutical corporations can afford them. \n \nHis posts are a slap in the face not just to me but to all the others who have worked hard to make this forum the leading alternative health forum on the net...where people come when they want to know what alternative practitioners are thinking or doing. \n \nPeople come here to find alternatives to very serious situations. They are seeking alternatives for many reasons.. whatever those reasons are they should be respected. They come here because this is not a forum about conventional medicine. \n \nand then he has the gall to recommend to someone inquiring about cancer treatment the American Cancer Society website... as though that was never crammed down their throat already on their journey through the cancer maze. \n \nHis repeated posts imply "you\'re a dodo head nyahh nyahh" - whether it was stated point in fact or not. \n \nso for your convienence I have cut and pasted his initial posts, all nine of them on his first day here. \n \nI put in red those things I found to be particulary offensive, but by no means did I red line all the offensive things he said. \n \nThere are opinions and then there are insults with no back up to show why the insult is merited. \n \nThis are his first 9 posts on July 10. \n \n \n1. Kill Order on Jim Humble? \nI would laugh long and hard at Jim Humble and his deluded dribblings - if it wasn\'t for the fact that some people might be gullible enough to buy into his gibberish. But even I have a hard time supressing a snicker at this "the FBI is out to get me!" bit. He must be even more desperate for attention than usual. \n \n2. The Proven Cancer Cure the FDA Has Tried to Suppress \nHey guys, I\'m so surprised to find ol Jeremiah here. He has this nonsense pasted all over the internet. \n \nI\'m sure you are all smart enough to realize this, but I\'ll state the obvious anyway that is hardly some "cure" for cancer. "Antineoplastons" is just some nonsensical term Burzynski made up and his CLAIMS to have cured people are only that: empty claims. He is a one in a long line of quacks. \n \n(meanwhile: Burzynski Research Institute, Inc. Receives SPA Clearance from the FDA to Initiate Pivotal Phase III Trial of Combination Antineoplaston Therapy and Radiation Therapy... and here is the link to some of the patients that have been cured at his clinic...believe me... we see these patients all the time in hospice. There is no conventional treatment to cure these brain cancers. https://www.burzynskiclinic.com/patient-stories.htmlBurzynski ) \n \n3. Amazing Micro Water...hype or good? \nHey somebody gets it. \n \nThe body\'s pH is very tightly regulated by the body; you cannot change by simply ingesting baking soda. \n \nWorse, if you somehow did, you would get very sick, and if it\'s changed enough, even die. \n \nI\'ll pass. \n \n4. "One Minute Cure" a book review \nNo, it will not. This is utter nonsense. \n \n5. Baking soda daily...ok or bad? \n"Dr" Sircus is not even a doctor and is a flaming quack of the worst sort. \n \nExcessive/long-term use of baking soda can be quite dangerous. Pls reconsider. \n \n6. High cost of alternative treatment \nNo, sorry, cancer is not caused by "fungus." That is frankly a ridiculous assertion made by Simonici with nothing to back it up - including pretty much every oncologist on the planet. \n \nFurther, sorry but ingesting baking soda does not kill cancer cells. Your body\'s pH is very tightly regulated, and even if you ate an entire box of baking soda, it would at best only change the pH of your urine (and perhaps make you sick or worse). The idea that the baking soda somehow magically isn\'t absorbed by your body until it reaches cancer cells is utter fantasy with no basis in fact or even common sense. \n \nAnn, please consider that "traditional" medicine, despite its imperfections, is not "evil" or all controlled by the mafia or jabba the hut or whatever, and may offer him his best chance for survival. \n \nAnd as you can see, traditional doctors aren\'t the only ones who have no problem making lots of money for their services. The diff is traditional doctors are under the scrutiny and tight regulation of the AMA, the govt, etc etc, while "alternative" doctors typically are not, at least if they put up enough disclaimers about their alleged cures. \n \nI wish you and your husband the best whatever you decide. \n \n7. Family member just diagnosed with lung cancer \nsigh - where to start: \n \ncj, sorry, but you simply cannot cure cancer with "healthy drinks," sodium bicarb etc (that doesn\'t mean they aren\'t worthwhile from a general health perspective, however). These are all warm fuzzy notions that people believe simply because they are so incredibly appealing (dont you think this is just a little condensending?) - the idea of a cheap, easy, "natural" cure-all. Sadly, they are (so far) empty claims and often touted by alleged experts who are trying to make a name for themselves - ultimately for fame and/or fortune. ie slimeballs of the lowest sort. \n \nYknow I could claim hot cocoa drank 3 times a day cures cancer too (or perhaps some "magical mineral supplement" I come up with) and how I know at least 50 people who were cured that way, etc etc etc - that doesn\'t make true though, does it? \n \nPlease do yourself and your dad a favor and don\'t make the mistake of mesmerizing yourself into believing such fairy tales. Chemo is not fun to put it mildly, but it may offer him the best chance for survival. And contrary to what some may believe, the conspiracy theories about the FDA, "big pharm" etc are absurd. And this comes from someone who has no problem ripping on the government, to include the FDA. ![]() \n \nI guess all I\'m trying to say is be careful and don\'t believe something is true just because you so want it to be true or gravitate towards (or away from) a treatment due to how pleasant or unpleasant it sounds. \n \nI wish you and him the best regardless. \n \n \n8. Stan Burzynski\'s Cancer Cure \nHey mommysunshine gets it. \n \nNo. This "miracle cure" doctor is nothing more than one in a long line of quacks with a TOTALLY unproven "cure" that cures nothing. It is sad - and potentially deadly - to see people believe something simply because they wish it to be true. \n( Mean while: Burzynski Research Institute, Inc. Gets SPA Clearance from the FDA to Initiate Pivotal Phase III Trial of Combination Antineoplaston Therapy and Radiation Therapy) \n9. douglass report on one minute cure for cancer \nThe idea that it can prevent or "cure" cancer in any way is also blatant foolishness, frankly. \n \nNotice that that ridiculous video just babbles, on and on and on ....and NEVER TELLS YOU WHAT THIS ALLEGED "MIRACLE CURE" IS. That should be a big clue right there. If it\'s so great, why all the secrecy and games? \n \nafter these 9 posts I layed into him and here is what I said: \nSimply to get you to purchase the book. \n \nH202 is an old and effective remedy for some conditions.. It is better for prevention of cancer than cure. \n \nBill, I think you are a troll... and I don\'t like you. \nYou have come here to distract.... you are on my list. We don\'t need your kind around here. \nGet lost. \n \n \n10. douglass report on one minute cure for cancer \nNo, I have come here to discuss and inform. I do not "troll" and cannot stand those who do. I thought this was a forum to discuss cancer and I thought you were allowed to disagree with people or ideas/etc presented. It\'s not like I came up and went "you\'re a dodo head nyahh nyahh" - which is basically what your\'e now doing. \n \nI also have little patience for hypersensitive people who engage in personal attacks and pointless tantrums when someone dares to question what they say as you have (multiple times now). That is the kind of distraction and kind of person not needed. \n \nI\'ll try to get over being "on your list." \n \n11. "One Minute Cure" a book review \nI\'m sorry but these claims are all unproven at best and dangerous at worst. I suggest anyone believing or considering this listen to what the American Cancer Society has to say: \n \nhttps://www.cancer.org/Treatment/Trea...oxygen-therapy \n \n"Ozone/oxygen therapy" has by NO means been proven to cure ANY cancer. There is sketchy data - at best - indicating it MIGHT have some potential. \n \nThen I asked him for references for all his opinions regarding conventional cancer treatment since unproven alternative treatments are such a big issue for him. This is what I asked him but he did not bother answering even one of the questions: \n \nUM yes, bill5, please list the chemotherapy agents that have been proven to cure cancer. \nI expect a reply by the end of the day. \nDon\'t you think you could find the answer by then? \nSeeing that chemo is the main cancer therapy? \nand is prescribed daily to hundreds of thousands? \nPlease reference the studies and the cure rate for each drug. \nalso give the approximate cost of treatment and duration of therapy. \n \nAnd as of today.. he still has not shown any documented evidence on the chemo agents PROVEN to work \n \nWhat goes round comes round... It\'s not like I came up and went "you\'re a dodo head nyahh nyahh" - \n \n \r\n __________________ \r\n <!-' + '- / sig -' + '->\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n <!-' + '- message, attachments, sig -' + '->\r\n\r\n \r\n "Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. He\'s got tumors everywhere but he just keeps on truckin. He refuses all treatment. It is healthy to debate these issues with someone who thinks differently. Often times, you can feel stronger about your beliefs when they are challenged. \nFor example... \n \n"I am pissed at him because he dissed a book I recommended saying the author was in it for the money." \n \nThis is technically not an insult, but an opinion expressed strongly. An insult would sound more like this... \n"You are a doo doo head for believing this nonsense!" \n \nI know Bill\'s words can be harsh, but I have yet to see him actually call a member names. So far, I have only seen him call people names who do not belong to this forum. I am a Sarah Palin supporter. Many people can\'t stand her. If someone comes up to me and says "Palin is a poop bag!" I wouldn\'t take personal offense. I strongly disagree, but it\'s fine if that person wants to express his opinion that way. It\'s an opinion, not an insult. \n \nI don\'t necessarily agree with him on all aspects, but the reason I like Bill is because he is aware that people in this world really do invent "miracle" products just to make money. I don\'t think they all do, but not every miracle product on the shelf is going to cure you. It is something you have to look at carefully. You can\'t just blindly accept it without putting in some thought. \n \nI disagree with conventional medicine, but I also disagree with a lot of alternatives as well. The alternatives do not fall under only one category. You don\'t just have "conventional medicine" and "alternative medicine"! There is a wide variety of ways you can go in both directions. \n \nI can\'t help but support Bill, however I do think he should be backing up his opinions a little more so that there can be information to debate on. You can feel sorry for Jim Humble and others like him, but please try to accept Bill\'s opinions and respect them. Not being welcome to share an opinion is crossing the line of disagreement. \n \nThank You, \nK.T.\r\n | \r\n

To answer your question, the problem is that many of these beloved "natural" treatments or cures can\'t stand up to the scrutiny/are not proven. In some cases, one cannot even rationally defend them with even the most basic of logic (the baking soda thing is a classic example). Yet people have bought (sometimes literally) into them and having them exposed for the empty house of cards they are is embarrassing. Nobody likes to admit they were fooled. "Orthodox therapies" certainly don\'t have all the answers to cancer, and don\'t do much for some of them at all, at least in the long term. But they do a great deal for others and have extremely impressive track records with some. Why anyone would ignore that, esp in favor of something which, unlike orthodox methods, are largely unregulated and unproven to treat (never mind "cure") cancer to any degree - and which at times don\'t even possess any sound logic behind how or why they work - amazes me, but to each their own.Quote: \r\n

It has come to my attention that some are conerned that I have blasted bill5.
I will tell you why. I got up the other day to do my usual posting on this forum to find bill5 had written on 9 posts. I'm fine with that but everything he said was an attempt to discredit alterntive medicine, all comments designed to make one feel foolish for even considering the alternative they were discussing. I guess I woke up not in the mood for this type of BS. bill5 came here and started trying to blatlantly discredit everything he got near. He did not provide any reference and then to boot he recommended the American Cancer Society!... and in the same breath ranted that no alternative therapies were proven to work. I advised him that this forum is not exactly geared to respecting the American Cancer Society. Then he went on to name call several alternative practitioners, some that are highly respected here. What's that old saying, an enemy of my friend is an enemy of mine...or something like that... many people have been greatly helped by these alternative practitioners RIGHT HERE ON THIS FORUM! His comments were aggressive and offensive to likely many. ... so dam it! I slammed him. All those who post here regularly know that I am pretty tolerant. But for a new comer here to take this approach really got my goat. and I will say what I will say! I have broken my back here trying to provide reference to people time and time again. We all know that there is a severe lack of reference that is approved by the AMA or TPTB on alternative medicine... and we also know why politically. We all know that the testimonial is what we have. Double blind studies cost millions and only pharmaceutical corporations can afford them. His posts are a slap in the face not just to me but to all the others who have worked hard to make this forum the leading alternative health forum on the net...where people come when they want to know what alternative practitioners are thinking or doing. People come here to find alternatives to very serious situations. They are seeking alternatives for many reasons.. whatever those reasons are they should be respected. They come here because this is not a forum about conventional medicine. and then he has the gall to recommend to someone inquiring about cancer treatment the American Cancer Society website... as though that was never crammed down their throat already on their journey through the cancer maze. His repeated posts imply "you're a dodo head nyahh nyahh" - whether it was stated point in fact or not. so for your convienence I have cut and pasted his initial posts, all nine of them on his first day here. I put in red those things I found to be particulary offensive, but by no means did I red line all the offensive things he said. There are opinions and then there are insults with no back up to show why the insult is merited. This are his first 9 posts on July 10. 1. Kill Order on Jim Humble? I would laugh long and hard at Jim Humble and his deluded dribblings - if it wasn't for the fact that some people might be gullible enough to buy into his gibberish. But even I have a hard time supressing a snicker at this "the FBI is out to get me!" bit. He must be even more desperate for attention than usual. 2. The Proven Cancer Cure the FDA Has Tried to Suppress Hey guys, I'm so surprised to find ol Jeremiah here. He has this nonsense pasted all over the internet. I'm sure you are all smart enough to realize this, but I'll state the obvious anyway that is hardly some "cure" for cancer. "Antineoplastons" is just some nonsensical term Burzynski made up and his CLAIMS to have cured people are only that: empty claims. He is a one in a long line of quacks. (meanwhile: Burzynski Research Institute, Inc. Receives SPA Clearance from the FDA to Initiate Pivotal Phase III Trial of Combination Antineoplaston Therapy and Radiation Therapy... and here is the link to some of the patients that have been cured at his clinic...believe me... we see these patients all the time in hospice. There is no conventional treatment to cure these brain cancers. https://www.burzynskiclinic.com/patient-stories.htmlBurzynski ) 3. Amazing Micro Water...hype or good? Hey somebody gets it. The body's pH is very tightly regulated by the body; you cannot change by simply ingesting baking soda. Worse, if you somehow did, you would get very sick, and if it's changed enough, even die. I'll pass. 4. "One Minute Cure" a book review No, it will not. This is utter nonsense. 5. Baking soda daily...ok or bad? "Dr" Sircus is not even a doctor and is a flaming quack of the worst sort. Excessive/long-term use of baking soda can be quite dangerous. Pls reconsider. 6. High cost of alternative treatment No, sorry, cancer is not caused by "fungus." That is frankly a ridiculous assertion made by Simonici with nothing to back it up - including pretty much every oncologist on the planet. Further, sorry but ingesting baking soda does not kill cancer cells. Your body's pH is very tightly regulated, and even if you ate an entire box of baking soda, it would at best only change the pH of your urine (and perhaps make you sick or worse). The idea that the baking soda somehow magically isn't absorbed by your body until it reaches cancer cells is utter fantasy with no basis in fact or even common sense. Ann, please consider that "traditional" medicine, despite its imperfections, is not "evil" or all controlled by the mafia or jabba the hut or whatever, and may offer him his best chance for survival. And as you can see, traditional doctors aren't the only ones who have no problem making lots of money for their services. The diff is traditional doctors are under the scrutiny and tight regulation of the AMA, the govt, etc etc, while "alternative" doctors typically are not, at least if they put up enough disclaimers about their alleged cures. I wish you and your husband the best whatever you decide. 7. Family member just diagnosed with lung cancer sigh - where to start: cj, sorry, but you simply cannot cure cancer with "healthy drinks," sodium bicarb etc (that doesn't mean they aren't worthwhile from a general health perspective, however). Yknow I could claim hot cocoa drank 3 times a day cures cancer too (or perhaps some "magical mineral supplement" I come up with) and how I know at least 50 people who were cured that way, etc etc etc - that doesn't make true though, does it? Please do yourself and your dad a favor and don't make the mistake of mesmerizing yourself into believing such fairy tales. Chemo is not fun to put it mildly, but it may offer him the best chance for survival. And contrary to what some may believe, the conspiracy theories about the FDA, "big pharm" etc are absurd. And this comes from someone who has no problem ripping on the government, to include the FDA. ![]() I guess all I'm trying to say is be careful and don't believe something is true just because you so want it to be true or gravitate towards (or away from) a treatment due to how pleasant or unpleasant it sounds. I wish you and him the best regardless. 8. Stan Burzynski's Cancer Cure Hey mommysunshine gets it. No. This "miracle cure" doctor is nothing more than one in a long line of quacks with a TOTALLY unproven "cure" that cures nothing. It is sad - and potentially deadly - to see people believe something simply because they wish it to be true. ( Mean while: Burzynski Research Institute, Inc. Gets SPA Clearance from the FDA to Initiate Pivotal Phase III Trial of Combination Antineoplaston Therapy and Radiation Therapy) 9. douglass report on one minute cure for cancer The idea that it can prevent or "cure" cancer in any way is also blatant foolishness, frankly. Notice that that ridiculous video just babbles, on and on and on ....and NEVER TELLS YOU WHAT THIS ALLEGED "MIRACLE CURE" IS. That should be a big clue right there. If it's so great, why all the secrecy and games? after these 9 posts I layed into him and here is what I said: Simply to get you to purchase the book. H202 is an old and effective remedy for some conditions.. It is better for prevention of cancer than cure. Bill, I think you are a troll... and I don't like you. You have come here to distract.... you are on my list. We don't need your kind around here. Get lost. 10. douglass report on one minute cure for cancer No, I have come here to discuss and inform. I do not "troll" and cannot stand those who do. I thought this was a forum to discuss cancer and I thought you were allowed to disagree with people or ideas/etc presented. It's not like I came up and went "you're a dodo head nyahh nyahh" - which is basically what your'e now doing. I also have little patience for hypersensitive people who engage in personal attacks and pointless tantrums when someone dares to question what they say as you have (multiple times now). That is the kind of distraction and kind of person not needed. I'll try to get over being "on your list." 11. "One Minute Cure" a book review I'm sorry but these claims are all unproven at best and dangerous at worst. I suggest anyone believing or considering this listen to what the American Cancer Society has to say: https://www.cancer.org/Treatment/Trea...oxygen-therapy "Ozone/oxygen therapy" has by NO means been proven to cure ANY cancer. There is sketchy data - at best - indicating it MIGHT have some potential. Then I asked him for references for all his opinions regarding conventional cancer treatment since unproven alternative treatments are such a big issue for him. This is what I asked him but he did not bother answering even one of the questions: UM yes, bill5, please list the chemotherapy agents that have been proven to cure cancer. I expect a reply by the end of the day. Don't you think you could find the answer by then? Seeing that chemo is the main cancer therapy? and is prescribed daily to hundreds of thousands? Please reference the studies and the cure rate for each drug. also give the approximate cost of treatment and duration of therapy. And as of today.. he still has not shown any documented evidence on the chemo agents PROVEN to work What goes round comes round... It's not like I came up and went "you're a dodo head nyahh nyahh" -
