There is plenty of research to show that pomegranate is a fruit with antioxidant, antidiabetic and anti-atherosclerotic properties and that it will also help those with prostate, breast and colon cancer so I'm all for increased pomegranate consumption. However I can't find anything that suggests it may be thermogenic.

You probably already know how to deal best with a pomegranate but for those who don't
How To Cut Open a Pomegranate

If you are looking for a weightloss aid that appears to both increase energy expenditure and decrease the amount of food consumed BUTYRATE appears to do the trick Useful for diabetics as well.
After reading that research I ordered
BUTYRAID $5 Code WAB666 I'll let you know if it helps.
Stephan Whole Health Source has a useful blog on the topic of Butyrate. As Butyrate is produced naturally by the action of beneficial bacteria on fiber in the colon it may well be that pomegranate (a reasonable source of fiber) may actually assist this action. though ground flaxseed is a better fiber source.

There have been a few posts on pomegranate here in the past if you are interested in this fruit you will want to look at. But I have not seen anything about thermogenics mentioned. It is a regular part of our diet and it seems that regular old bottled pomegranate juice still has enough power to do the job. This is some of what we have stored.

For many people that reduction in Blood pressure alone is a good enough reason for drinking Pomegranate juice.

Wink

The Pomegranate seeds look so pretty and Christmassy on top of a greens salad
now for the holidays. Thankfully, my grocery has been having them 2 for $1.00
lately. And the juice mixed with ice and Gin or Votka makes a great before dinner
drink. LOL!

Yes, thats a pretty interesting study but I always wonder about who paid for it really. Israel grows lots and lots of pomegranets... in might be in some economic interest. I would like to similar studies done elsewhere. Anyway, its the one that got me drinking the stuff.

Pomegranate seed oil (and possibly pomegranate leaf extract) *may* encourage weight loss. I've seen a few products that feature pom seed oil, usually in combination with other ingredients.

Thanks for those. I just looked for Pomegranate and Thermogenic and obviously wasn't trying hard enough.
I think we've found a sufficient number of reasons to treat ourselves to some.

Cool

Looks like others have had the same idea as I! LOL!
I would think that pomegranate and cranberries would make a delicious
combination too - for a relish or added to a salad. Yuuuum!
