SupFresh is on a distinguished road
Default Help with my acne please.

Hello everyone, I'm hoping some of you might possibly have some advice on this topic. I'm 19 and Ive had acne since I was 13, at first it was very mild, it did not really bother me, but when i turned about 15 or 16 it started getting worse. My doctor prescribed me Minocyline which seemed to be a life saver but then it stopped working after a few months. After this my acne got worse then ever and it more or less destroyed my self-esteem and my confidence. Recently in the past few months ive been researching into the whole diet-acne relations and I have greatly changed how I eat and i quit smoking and now try to eat as healthy as possible. I got a little obsessive about diets and didn't research them enough and I unintentionally lost tons of fat and muscle when i was trying to follow a paleoish diet, and i am now trying to manage my acne and not look deathly thin, I was origionally 6'3 170 pounds and i dropped to 150 pounds in like 2 or 3 weeks. I workout 4 times a week and i found it impossible to not lose weight without carbs.
My diet usually looks like this

30-45 minutes before breakfast
1-2 glasses of lemon water
Morning:
4 eggs, salad, quinoa or sweet patato, apple
Cod liver oil supplement
B-50 complex
calcium magnesium

2 hours later:
drink more water
30-45 minutes later
lunch:
usually tons of chicken, quinoa or sweet patato with butter, salad or broccoli
Omega 3 Supplement
vitamin d3 1000iu

2 hours later:
drink more water
30 minutes later
store bought organic kefir
30-45 minutes later
roughly same meal idea
cod liver oil supplement
magnesium- calcium supplement

then like 1 hour before bed i drink like 2 glasses of water with lemon squeezed in.

I wash my face with distilled water and try not to irritate it and i try keeping shampoo and conditioner off of my face when i shower.

So my main dilema is im trying to clear my acne (so far it working okay, only have a few active pimples), workout and get enough calories in a healthy way to gain some weight because right now i look very skinny and it is very depressing to me.

Please help me.
Thanks

I suggest that you look into MMS. You can learn about it here. www.jimhumble.biz A 3 week course of treatment along with some topical application has cleared a number of cases of acne that I have read about. Your diet looks pretty good.

You may want to add some greens 8000 ( I like berry greens 8000) add to a Jarrow whey and keifer shake once a day. get it at www.iherb.com The extra whey protien will do you well in boosting glutathione levels and gives you an extra 17 grams a day of very easy to digest nutrients.

Lightbulb Herbs for Acne

Hi SupFresh, welcome! Here are some herbal suggestions for acne that you may find helpful. Click on our natmedtalk "Wiki" tab at the top of the page for more info on some of these herbs.

Herbal Remedies

Basil has been shown to kill bacteria on the skin surface. Apply this tincture
directly to the skin surface on a compress. This works to kill the bacteria that
forms blackhead and whiteheads. It is also possible to steep two to three
teaspoons of dried basil in a cup of boiling water. Allow the herb to steep 5-10
minutes or more in order to extract the healing oils from the plant. Then soak a
washcloth or compress in the tea and apply to the areas where acne is most
present.

Burdock is a tonic herbs and have been used in the treatment of skin conditions.
Burdock is an herb that boosts immunity and purifies the blood. It's a
traditional liver tonic and a mild, natural diuretic. Burdock's laxative and
diuretic properties help remove toxins from the system. The Chinese utilize it
against tumors, inflammation, fungal and bacterial infections. It is often
recommended for dry, scaly skin. You can take burdock in capsule form (follow
the directions) or make a acne fighting tea. Burdock root tincture may be taken
in 24 ml amounts per day. Dried root preparations in a capsule or tablet can be
used at 12 grams three times per day.

Calendula is a good herbal treatment for the skin, commonly known as Marigold.
(It is not a true marigold.) Calendula is a popular ornamental plant. Try
washing your skin with tea made from the flowers or taking the tincture orally.

Dandelion is a leading remedy for detoxing the liver. It stimulates the flow of
bile, a fluid that aids fat digestion, which is why it's used for liver and
gallbladder disorders. Dandelion has scientifically documented potent diuretic
properties. It relieves constipation and eases bloating and swelling. Dandelion
should be used for 4 to 6 weeks at a time. For it's liver benefits dandelion is
helpful for acne.

Garlic can be taken internally 2-3 times a day as well as massaging your acne
with raw garlic several times a day.

Oregon Grape Root (Berberis aquifolium) has antibiotic properties and helps
stimulate the immune system.

Red Clover is an herb suggested for chronic conditions affecting the skin. It is
a diuretic, but it's unknown exactly how it works for skin conditions. Use
nonfermented red clover which is safe. Red clover contains a substance called
genistein, which has anticancer properties.

Yellow Dock is another herb that purifies the blood. It has compounds called
anthraquinone glycosides that stimulate bile production, aiding digestion and
cleansing the liver. Some herbalists believe that chronic skin problems like
acne improve with long-term use of yellow dock. Don't take yellow dock if you
have kidney stones.
