There are some good points in that article, especially point number 1. If you lose your job, at least you will not have huge food bills if you stock up.

Thats very good advice, we are in a situation where hubby and I are no longer able to work again, and so have learned to be very thrifty because of it.
The situation with unemployment here is so bad that if you are aged 40 or over you might as well forget about getting employment in Aus as there is so much predjudice against older workers these days.
Holidays are a thing of the past, and we don't drink, smoke, gamble or dine out anymore
but we are happy as we at least have a roof over our heads and eat well.

Do you guys have a social security tpe deal and a pension? Was everything ok until inflation became crazy a couple yrs ago?

Yes I'm on an aged pension, and hubby is on a sickness benifit,he is 2 years younger than me, so can't go on a pension untill he is 65.
