Default Natural Strategies for Hearing Loss

https://www.lef.org/magazine/mag2007/...ingloss_01.htm

Quote:
For more than 20 years, leading otolaryngologist Dr. Michael Seidman has been searching for the underlying causes of age-related hearing loss and for natural strategies to prevent and even reverse this debilitating condition. His remarkable research and clinical experience shows that it is now possible to slow the progressionand sometimes even reverse hearing lossusing an integrative approach that includes optimal nutritional and lifestyle choices.

Default Magnesium to protect hearing

Calming Your Life & Tinnitus with Magnesium by Barry Keate
this article explains the role of magnesium.
Where it says Magnesium can be taken in therapeutic doses up to 600 mg daily, it doesn't mean 600mg in one dose. Smaller amounts through the day with food are better. ie 150mg + breakfast : 150mg with Lunch : 150mg with dinner and another 150mg before bed

Default Prevent and Even Reverse Age-Related Hearing Loss with Good Nutrition

Prevent and Even Reverse Age-Related Hearing Loss with Good Nutrition

This article mentions vitamin d3 as well as magnesium.Which is always a good idea anyway. It doesn't give the numbers for effective vitamin D3 repletion but 5000iu/d is generally a reasonable starting point and a 25(OH)D test in 3~6 months will tell if you can decrease/increase from that point.
10,000iu/d is safe even in sunny places.

Patients suffering from tinnitus for as long as 17 years have made complete recoveries using Wobenzyme therapy. Other potent enzyme therapies(Vitalzym X, Nattokinase, Lumbrokinase{Boluke} could also be expected to be beneficial as they are all capable of blocking inflammation when used in high dosage. My preference among these is Vitalzym X which contains the potent enzyme serrapeptase, protease, papain, bromelain, amylase, rutin(protects against capillary blood vessel fragility), and amia(potent natural source of Vitamin C). Eight to 10 Vitalzym X three times daily should be adequate therapy.

Another option is Ring Stop, which is a homeoapthic preparation. I have known people that have had success with this for ear ringing.

Ozzie, I too have tinnitus for the past 9 months. I keep thinking it'll be gone soon...but not yet.

How are you doing?

I was reading Andrew Weils book, "Spontaneous Healing" and he said a doctor in Germany believes that it is caused by chronic muscle tension in head and neck associated with poor posture and stress. Boy that rang true for me (I won't bore you with the details), how about you?

He prescribes yoga, relaxation, and body work. This often rids patients of their symptoms.

Time to get back to yoga!

mommysunshine, I havent as yet been to the healthfood store to get that ring stop, but will try and get some next time I go.
My problem started, years ago either from having painful mastoiditis in my ears as a child, and later on in life working in a noisy enviroment.

Our need for zinc increases as we age. Hearing loss and ringing in the ears may be related to lack of zinc, according to articles I have read.

I think that the causes for hearing loss and tinnitis are probably many and individual

Mommysunshine.... you now have an ozonator. Is there a way to attach a line to it so you can direct the ozone into your ears? This is what got rid of it for me and it is a very common protocol within ozone therapy. If you are able to connect a line talk to me first before doing it as there are a couple of things to know
